Paying in credits for someone to get me one of those adoooooorable ( dazed.gif ) Luna dolls. Message me in-game, please, and we can negotiate prices and things!
Daganev2008-04-04 05:12:25
hmm, me too. Only not a doll. Something more interesting than that.
Arin2008-04-04 05:49:49
Speaking of which... can we determine a dingbat/credit exchange rate?
Aramel2008-04-04 06:12:14
1:1? I'd pay 1:2 for a Luna doll, but not sure about everyone else.

Someone message me! tongue.gif *hopes*

I'm willing to pay 1:3 for dingbat items in case anyone is interested in selling them.
Unknown2008-04-04 11:02:21
Considering it costs like 100 credits for 15 dingbats, I doubt anyone would really want to give away dolls for 15 credits.
Unknown2008-04-04 12:41:07
I'm also willing to pay some credits for something. PM me or message dinoniel IG.
Ialie2008-04-04 14:12:30
Willing to pay credits for a candy box! I really really really want one!

Please contact me!
Daganev2008-04-04 16:28:58
I'm willing to give somebody 300 credits to buy me a scarecrow hat.

If you need a reason, you didn't get me a birthday gift yet, or a wedding gift!

send me messages in game.
Thalos2008-04-04 16:42:45

It does not cost 100 credits for 15 dingbats. That's bad economics and just bad math. You pay the same price you would any other day for 100 credits, except this time you're given a free bonus in the form of 15 dingbats. Anything you buy with those dingbats is, therefore, a free gift. The fact that you have the option to trade your dingbat gift item to someone else for credits is just one more bonus.
Karnagan2008-04-04 19:27:57
At the same time though, the dingbats themselves are non-transferable. And the artifacts can't be refunded. Therefore, the higher-value dingbat items, such as the candy box, knock container, and transplanar contrivance can only REALLY be purchased if someone buys 2000 credits in one shot. They need to buy 1000 credits just to have any chance to purchase the scarecrow hat.

This is why dingbats may very well end up being worth a great deal more than credits in Lusternia. In Achaea, I believe the Mayan Crowns can be transferred to people in exchange for gold. When this is the case, doubtless their currency will quickly fall into line with credit values. Here, that's not quite the case.

Not quite. It's only a "free gift" if you were going to buy credits in the first place. If you buy credits for the sole purpose of getting dingbats, it's very different. Then you're essentially paying hundreds of dollars for dingbats, and as a benefit getting some other credits that you don't care so much about.

It actually is a pretty decent marketing campaign in that way. Beats a credit bonus, because anybody can get credits. This way, however, if you want dingbats... break out that credit card (or pay a pretty bad rate in credits).

Edit: Think of it kind of like those "Buy X dollars worth of items, and get this thing free" sales you sometimes see. You might buy that much stuff not for the sake of that much stuff, but for the gift. I actually did this myself last Christmas-- the 'free gift' was a very lovely, soft, comfy stuffed lambie named Lambie. I thought it'd make a perfect present, so I bought some slipper-socks and stuff there as well for stocking-stuffers (which I never would have otherwise).
Unknown2008-04-04 20:33:22
True. I can't argue with the reverse logic. I'm sure I've bought one or two things in my life just to get the free gift.

I congratulate the IRE folks for figuring out a way to get around people like me who don't actually buy their credits.

Now, if only buying items as gifts didn't still have a glitch or two... sad.gif
Karnagan2008-04-04 21:16:18
It's hardly a complete way around. If you know the right people, they can hand you the credit gifts at market value- maybe even less! content.gif

If there was a glitch, please message me and I'll un-glitch it.

When you send someone a gift, do they have to know where it came from? Or can it be all secret and stuff?

HELP ARTIFACTS says that you can specify a message, or it will give a generic one-- but your name is attached so that they know who to thank.
