So I ended up runing at 67/420/240 and 355/212/190, went for the extra speed over 5 damage, which would be like 40 converted damage.

So in non-mallet time, we are looking at somewhere between 8 and 20 days (somewhere between 16 and 20 depending on how much faeling speed makes a difference) for non mallet normal speed warriors of afk forging for one weapon. Yeah, that doesn't suck balls.

Without a mallet I'd have quit. It's just that simple. The number of rolls I made as faeling/hammer were retarded and doing it as any normal race with a hammer would've been stupid slow. Normal race without a hammer? Just don't.

Mallets also make it a lot easier to get the high-end stats, so the time would not have just doubled.

Way to make me feel even more inferior.

Damn... that's a beast. Grats, dude.


New forging woes: nekai for the newly formed Nekotai guild.

1 nekai = 50 iron to forge.
2 nekai = 100 iron to forge
2 shofa = 40 steel and 10 leather.
1 chain = 50 iron to forge.


It's a non sequitur. Up until now, the basic monk weapons have required 50 commodities total to forge. These commodities are of various prices, granted, but the fact remains that a pair of nekai, which are one-handed weapons and meant to be dual-wielded cost twice as much as the other three.

Personally, I hope it's a mistake, one that will soon be fixed.


Anyway, the situation:

The founders of the Nekotai asked the smiths in the Ebonguard a kind of favor: forge nekai with 109 speed. I started forging nekai non stop at about 8 AM EST. As of right now, I've forged six nekai, the highest of which being 106, lowest 104 (my system's set minimum). Personally, I'm not really interested in wasting my time forging the ultimate speed nekais at this time because of my issue (and several have agreed with me) with the required commodities, and am willing to settle for above average, as I hope my commune mates also will.

One good thing about the nekai that I've found, is that with a Mallet of Forging, you can reforge a nekai three to four times in the space of a minute. Of course, Bashara's an Orclach, so an aslaran/faeling smith with a Mallet might be able to get four to five tries in a minute, I'm not totally sure.

Either way, I'm going to sketch some pure metal designs for the Darkhammer, ones that require fewer commodities, while my system churns out the new guild's first set of weapons.

*Edit*: Directly after posting this, I forged a 105 and a 106 speeder directly after each other. One more pair down, 400 more iron and 4 pairs of nekai to go.
*Edit*: Also, I added a little tracker to my system. So far, I've produced twenty nekai that had damages or precisions above 107 and one 109 dmg. In addition, I've forged 25 perfect 100's: 100.100.100.

The other kata weapons should be made to cost more. The nekai should not be cheapened.

When you consider that kata weapons always have 300 total stats and less dice rolls than masterweapons and are forged much much faster, there is no feasible reason that they should also be 1/4 the cost of what warriors have to spend.

Ive been forging some nekai since I need something to do while I am under my 10 day TDF. (Not a complaint since I actually expected more than what I got and am happy about just 10 days). I got one 109 speed nekai already and working on the second one now. It didn't take too long maybe 3 hours or so.

Grats. I've gotten to 107 now. And Hyrtakos beat us all. In the first 45 minutes of forging, he scored 109.

Forging is diceroll. The two handers get up to 218 if you're masochistic, 212 if you're really, really bored, and normally around 200.

Yeah, well Hyrt got the first official pair of 109's. I'm still trying. Anyway, I sent in an Issue this morning when I noticed that the nekai weapons comms cost were twice as much. Got this a few minutes ago:

Unless you have a forging mallet, don't hold out for 109's. They are seriously annoying to get.

I don't have a mallet, but since I'm pretty much wiped out because of a cold and meds, I figure I might as well get some work out of myself while I study for exams/finals.
