You can do whatever, but turning a debate into a "testable" issue upon first interaction with charachters, is just well, unfun.
Honestly, if he could smell the slightest hint of soulless, then he shouldn't even want to be around the Celestians or anyone who has ever stepped into Muud or Astral either. (And then again he pulls this "don't bring the sins of the fathers on the sons" junk which is just really wierd. )
It really seemed more of a forced "I'm going to be joining celest, and I don't want to be bothered talking to charachters from outise of it, cause its a waste of time."
Why would any charachters whom he ignored , and in thier eyes made really idiotic statements, care?

And if you really, really want to find out what he thinks of the wyrd, why don't you ask him? He might blow you away, but I'm sure something can be worked out if you put in some effort and hear him out.

If you don't care so much, why put up a fight about it to begin with? You can ignore him. It isn't as if he HAS to be a part of your roleplay and forum-rp.
Also, he could have had a choice between Seren and Celest, but Seren did the bad thing and hurt Raziela. Celest was his only option after that.
I didn't find any of it forced and I rather like his roleplay. It is different for my character and while not as zealous as Terentia, he has his own sort of hierarchical thing going for him.
But, obviously, I'm biased.

Oh right, if my charachter doesn't care for being blindly insulted and could care less from this point forward what this new divine does, tha means that I as a player should no longer care?
What happens in one part of Lusternia affects all the players, even if it doesn't affect all the charachters.

I'm not sure why you're so upset about this? So Eventru doesn't like Daganev based on his belief that Daganev is touched by the Soulless. Is there a reason he SHOULD like Daganev? I mean, what difference does it really make? Life goes on.

Oh, another shiny, hot, Celest god who hates the taint and is a healer/warrior. We've never seen that before.
Ah, ah, I'm only joking. Welcome (a bit late).

Spending time in and around Taint or the Soulless is not the same as a Shadowlord who was created via the Wyrd and thus could very reasonably have a hint of Soulless. If the Taint could seep into you from brief proximity now we would all be Tainted by going to Astral let alone Muud.
Look I totally understand your character being put off by such a dismissal and thus not bothering to make any kind of an effort, but you (the player) seem to be taking things too far.
The idea of the Wyrd is well weird. It is a deliberately nuanced thing that does not have a clear cut answer (and for a new player it is not in the online histories, you only learn about it from players). I think it would be reasonable for any Elder who returned to make a black and white judgment on first hearing about it (either a "well that seems harmless" or "origin in the Soulless, can not trust it"). It would only be after some interaction with those who had lived with the Wyrd for years that the judgment might take on more nuance.

That would be great if thats what happened, but thats not what happened, and thus I have a problem with it.

Good job missing the point!

Alright, this is getting acidic.
Eventru's beliefs and opinions can be gleaned in game. If you have an issue approaching him, you can approach members of his forming order.
If either of these are too difficult to perform, then it clearly is not something you care strongly enough about to warrant another two-three pages of rants.
Please don't make me lock this thread.

Well, if it's any consolation, I like you
We really need a stalker emote, but at this rate, I'll never get in your order.

Eh, I think the best part was Acrune stabbing the Fae Girl, was pretty funny
In an IG perspective, Ruiku lead many attacks against Mag, so finally a time for him to shine(and get slaughtered)
But OOC it was TIRING, some good roleplaying on the Admin parts, very good, although Raziela was kinda annoying, I almost screamed out kill her, just so we could save her now and just raise her later
**Edit** Eventru is the laid back God, I accidently almost yelled at him because I thought he was a citizen XD
He's fine to me, a lot easier to connect with that Terentia or the ever so elusive Elostian

For a good start, read Malicia's summary. Reading before commenting is good for you!
I'll even help you with a page number: Page 3.

As a sidenote, for Eventru to meet Viravain and Terentia: Speed Dating, ya'know. Or blind dates. You either get Viravain or Terentia, flip a coin.
If I forgot to mention it: Welcome and congratulations.

I believe what Daganev is saying is that Eventru was walking around saying "Hmm. This smells like apple pie" right on down the line calling out those touched by the soulless. Daganev's argument is that it seems like he could tell the difference between blueberry and apple pie, so this leaves NO room for debate really. It has nothing to do with his beliefs or whether or not he likes apples, but rather what is in the pie.
(likely concerns of Eventru singlehandedly undoing the PR work that wyrding took care of)

I don't really follow. The fact that he can smell apple in the wyrd is nothing impressive, because we all knew it was made out of apples -originally.- You can still claim it's something else now. Being unable to deny the origins and makeup of it isn't something you guys had to lose in the first place.
Hyrtakos2008-04-15 13:14:43
I disagree entirely, especially in terms of this being within nature.
Look at all the compounds that go into a growing plant for example. I'm sure anyone would have a difficult time telling me what sort of soil it grew in, what acidity level of the rain surrounding the area had, which nutrients it soaked up, and a host of other traits that simply aren't shared from thing 1 to thing 2.
Chemistry is an even better example of this playing out since you can look and examine compunds and see just how much difference a single hydrogen atom or carbon chain can have on a molecule. Hell... look at oxygen being added to a hydrogen molecule. I want you to compare a cup of water and a cup of hydrogen and tell me how many similarities they share even though they are really not much different on paper.

I know that there are some in the Glomdoring who ICly deny that there ever was Taint in the Glomdoring at all but I'm pretty sure that was never the official position in terms of historical fact and the like so this shouldn't be that big a deal. I mean no one else bought into that anyway so those who believe it can just go on doing whatever contortions necessary to keep believing it as they do in the face of all other evidence and those who don't..well, nothing changes.
Shiri2008-04-15 13:20:05
Yeah, but if someone COULD tell specific nutrients that had gone into a plant just by looking at/smelling/examining it, would that change anything? All it proves is that he's perceptive about that kind of thing.
EDIT: And honestly, your analogy is pretty misleading. The wyrd is a lot more like an apple pie than a plant with very specific tainted nutrients. I mean, we can't see nutrients regardless of whether they're in a complicated plant or not, but we can sure tell apples when we see them and have examples of them right over in Magnagora.
