Ok he radiates an aristocratic arrogance similar to the clergy of Old Spain!

Alodia might become less nice!

Thank you for proving my point.

As I said in the Quotes thread, he seems to be little more than a House-Clone, but without the razor wit.

Edit: Man, why can't we get a God who is a Doctor Who-clone. Now that would be awesome.

"Hello, Basin, I'm the Elder. Run for your life!"

With the smallest flick of His finger, Eventru sends Munsia flying headlong into
the depths of the Astral Plane.

Heh, what did Munsia do so quickly?
Munsia2008-04-13 06:38:29
Nothing yet dry.gif Alodia said something stupid and he made an assumption. S'okay. I'll have Eventru whining to Estarra soon enough

AHA! A better analogy! Makes me love Him even more!

@Munsia ... I was trying actually not to get you zapped or something... Instead of describing you as how other people see you... which Alodia doesn't believe.

You say to Eventru, "And this is a doll of Lady Elohora."
You give a plush doll of Lady Elohora, the Eternal Light to Eventru, Crown of
the Exalted.
Eventru, Crown of the Exalted says, "Ah, this is adorable."
Eventru, Crown of the Exalted says, "Yes, a perfect likeness, as We remember
her."
You say to Eventru, "She speaks."
You say to Eventru, "You must get comfy with her."

Eventru snuggles up close to a plush doll of Lady Elohora, the Eternal Light and
leans comfortably on it.
Child-like laughter erupts from a plush doll of Lady Elohora, the Eternal Light
as she reaches for Eventru's neck, wrapping her soft, plush arms lightly about
it.
A plush doll of Lady Elohora, the Eternal Light exclaims, "We love the Light!"
Eventru utters a deep, rumbling laugh.
Eventru, Crown of the Exalted says, "Very cute, Aison."
Munsia2008-04-13 07:00:48
I bet Aison wet her pants at that point

Let the asskissing and slandering of Magnagora and Glomdoring to the Obvious New Celestian God begin

It's not over until the event post goes up.

From what little extra details I've gleaned ICly, I don't think this is over yet.

Welcome Eventru. From my interactions with you, it seems you'll be fun!

There, now with that said:

This event was horrible. Just terrible. I have never experienced an event so frustrating and long-winded. There were so many unnecessary twists.

- Lighting beacons. Why? Does anyone from the administration think that's a fun quest? Supplicant numbers don't go down. Mag can't or hasn't been able to kill five Supernals in awhile and even if they were able, dropping the star/necromantate is no longer possible due to a decision by Estarra to do away with conflict quests. Lighting beacons is one of necessity. It is not fun. I honestly can't believe I and so many others spent time doing that. People were logging off in a state of weariness. Just tedious and unnecessary.

- Oh, so Raziela is trapped in Muud. Yay for super speed insanity. One could barely do anything, as they were highly neurotic or sociopathic just for, I don't know, participating? It drags on and on and on there. Clues were few and far in between. It's hard just getting into Muud if you don't have a pyramid to take you here and there. Thank god for Nyde's pyramid. grin.gif

- Raziela's pact is dissolved. Sorry to those who have to get their symbol and had to fight without her pacts for the duration of this event. She wasn't killed by any effort exerted on the part of another org, but why not send players through the motions just for the fun of it?

- Now let's just make Celest now go through the trouble of gathering tons of essence, as if Raziela really died. so as to heal her. More fun! More tedium.

- Raziela can no longer take fae. Another conflict quest removed, but at the cost of undoing any diplomatic arrangements Celest put together with the forests. GG Lusternia.

- To whoever was controlling Shakiniel during the event? rolleyes.gif Terrible job. Shakiniel was the first one going 'Let's just give up hope.' Hai, defender of hope saying give up hope?

- Enter giving Magnagora a free 5k power for whatever small part they played, draining it from the Pool. Nevermind that actually killing Raziela only nets 1000 power if you can get the corpse back to Luciphage. Nevermind that Mag didn't actually put together a force and work for their kill, in another org's home territory (ripple/shrine powers/no insanity - you name it) Some feel this was just a move by the admin to help Mag out, due to their weak nexus and crappy power laws.

- Yay for a new God that most Mag players will just find excuses to shout insults at. Revan's already begun. We were counting down until when you would, Revvie.

All in all, what a waste of time. Utterly disappointed and a lot of people agree with me.

Fast Edit!: Raziela can't be reached on Celestia still and that means no pacts, no symbols for the Celestines still.
Everiine2008-04-13 16:41:51
Wait, Eventru is real? I saw a post that mentioned him and I thought it was a player joke, a merging of Event and Kethuru, signifying how the event literally controlled everything.. Oh my...
Unknown2008-04-13 16:54:00
I'm waiting for him to say this:

"We are the Eventru. Lower your shields and surrender yourselves. We will add your biological and technological differences to our own. Resistance is futile."

Just given that he addresses himself as "we".

Quoted for truth.

Plus, Doman spending god knows how long constantly influencing every single damn angel on Celestia. I think he has something like 500% plus esteem now, which is probably enough to tear down two fully sanctified shrines and still have some left over.

Regarding Malicia's concerns over the event, I'd like to point out a couple of things.

The beacon quest is now a permanent quest, just as the necromentate quest is now permanent. Along with the Serenwilde ancestral quest and the Glomdoring summoning night quest, all four quests are now open to give out prophesies (before only Serenwilde was active). This was our first chance to look at the city quests in a long time and we did truncate it in the end (if anyone noticed) and may make revisions in the future. But now all major org quests are active and permanent for whoever wishes to do the honour quests.

As for the event itself, instead of just a snuggly Celest event, we decided to go with something deeper, allowing multiple outcomes. Celest had the opportunity to stop the communes from compromising Raziela. In hindsight, maybe the opportunity should have been greater but from my observations I don't know if it would have mattered. Also, there was a race with Magnagora to free Raziela before they were able to fully brand her. That didn't happen so of course you only saw what happened when Magnagora did suceed.

As with all events, of course hindsight always shows what could have been done better or different. But I think a lot of players did enjoy the interactions with the Supernals and being involved in the story. I think those who didn't enjoy it were more the metagamers who probably (understandably) wanted a more definitive gameplan on what they needed to do to "win".

But, nonetheless, I think this event seeds more interesting future developments, introduces a new god, and the experience helps us design new future events.

(Oh, and Raziela will return shortly if she hasn't already.)

I'm a bit surprised and disappointed that you're implying that I and those who complained are metagamers looking to win, because they didn't enjoy this event. I don't think my efforts to light five beacons, which took nearly eight hours stemmed from a desire to metagame. I was actually curious about the event and wanted to see some results. I went through the motions. But alright, whatever.
Doman2008-04-13 17:14:29
Yeah, I spent ALL DAY influencing, From like noon, to whatever late.

Best part. Near the end we were getting close to freeing her. and nydekon tells me to let him influence.

Okay, that's great. He's faster than I am, I hand off the pendant to do it. and he RUNS OFF TO FIGHT.
Nariah2008-04-13 17:16:30
During the last Marani event pacts with Luciphage were dissolved. It's not like it was added for Raziela for the fun of it.

The 'whatever small part' Mangnagora played was in fact a big part from out perspective. The event started at around 7pm my time and the 'defiling' took place at 2:30am - that's 7.5h if I can count right during which I and a lot of others were active nonstop. I have been empowering demons all this time without breaks. Saying that's nothing is ridiculous. Other Magnagorans were attempting to convert Raziela and push her faster into madness and supplications, yet another group was fighting all the time in Muud, and others guarding Nil, Earth or hindering Celest.

From our perspective we well-earned that 5,000 power for all the empowering, combat and great roleplay on part of some people (like Feyrll). And yes, that 5,000 really turned the tables around. We'll be raising our sixth Ascendant any day now.

I disagree. I find it hard to enjoy being forced to do a long repetitive quest, being stuck in Muud, fighting 3 orgs while highly neurotic/sociopathic, and having relations ruined with all your allies enjoyable. Maybe thats just me?

It was speculation on my part.
