What reasonable person would expect the communes to pass that up? Giving Magnagora a choice on whether to hurt a supernal, and giving the communes a choice on whether to protect the fae... it seems like all the choices are rather obvious and in all likelihood will end in a 3v1 smackdown.
I agree. The ONE thing the Forests agree on is that the cities do not belong anywhere on the Ethereal plane, that the cities cannot take the Fae. Serenwilde would rather see the Fae dark and twisted into mutated Fae (there was the debate on whether killing the bound Fae was allowed or not) than taken and eaten and turned into angels. When presented with the opportunity to stop that from happening, there was no way Serenwilde and Glomdoring wouldn't team up temporarily to protect the Fae. That's their RP, their whole mission. It's the same problem with the Supernals I hear people talking about-- it is not reasonable to assume that the Celestines would simply give up (a "choice"), nor is it reasonable to assume that the Forests would "choose" to ignore the threat of the Fae being taken, or the chance to stop it from happening.

Well...Raziela was gone. No more love or compassion in Celestia. The only reason Methrenton was gung-ho about getting her out is because he's naturally aggressive. If there was no love emanating from your favorite child-supernal, wouldn't everything look pretty bleak?
Maybe I'm just getting things wrong.
Hello, Eventru! Welcome to the Basin. We're nicer than we look in the forums. Please don't run.

Elohora is the perfect embodiment of all the teachings of Raziela, Japhiel, Methrenton and Shakiniel. Therefore, she should have also carried the same amount of compassion that Raziela would. Furthermore, the Supernals are balanced as one. With one member of the five permanently gone, the Supernals would be incomplete. It's silly to think that they would ever give up on another, especially so easily

Also, something I've noticed in this thread was a concern for the beliefs of the Supernals, or their reaction to Raziela being trapped inside Muud.
You must remember, this is a Soulless God. This is the pinnacle of all evil. No Elder God would dare to step inside it, because it would almost certainly mean they'd be pretty instantaneously devoured. A supernal slipping inside as Raziela did and being trapped is terrible - and in the eyes of the Supernals, it's quite feasible for them to believe that at any moment Raziela might be "digested", so to speak. They themselves wouldn't dare to enter Muud, for a variety of reasons - one, no half-formed in their right mind would willingly leave their plane without dire need. This would be considered dire need. Now, the remaining problem is this - if too much essence is piled in one place (read: Supernals gathered) inside of Muud, it's feasible to expect it to draw His attention. Whether it actually would or not can be debated - but the Supernals don't know this. All they know is they can't get there, something's wrong, and their mortal followers can't help them.
It sounds like time to despair to me! Even the greatest of figures can have a crisis of faith - right? Right?

Thank you! Ironically, Eventru is not, by design, a god to partake in conflict, only to encourage it - I welcome everyone to try and probe Eventru about his beliefs on the order of the Divine Circles and duties and aspects on things such as loyalty and purity. He definitely has some interesting quirks.
And I thought the royal "we" was a nice touch. It's amazing how difficult it is to keep it up, and then once you're used to it, not do it in every day conversations! So you'll need to forgive the occasional slip-up.

Welcome, Eventru!
Looking forward to seeing how your work and roleplay make Lusternia a better place. Even though you didn't seem so chatty when I ran into you a little while ago.

I have... very mixed feelings regarding this event. The very fact that this was an event was a lot of fun. Participating in something new always brings a lot of excitement. Much of the excitement was diminished in that I often found myself ignored, but that happens. However what was the real killer was a lot of the tediousness. First it was lighting up the spire, which is so mind numbingly boring. I was there for three pearls before I was forced to log of due to school restrictions and my mind was swimming from all the repetitive searching for squid.
Fast forward to the next part, when the angels start to cry again. I bring Alodia to meet Japhiel and discuss what can be done... and, err... "nothing"? You make my angel respond and promise that something can happen, and all we end up with is "nothing". True, I got some interaction with Japhiel, and while interaction with NPCs is fun, it was very unfulfilling, due to the reasons Talkan stated. Getting pretty much told that "there is nothing you can do" is very disappointing.
Later on, Raziela gets eaten by Muud. I've had to leave before that, so I don't know the specifics. Bottom line is, she's trapped and there's not much that we can do.
Finally Japhiel comes up with a solution. Get essence and a pearl (and THANK YOU for it not being THE pearl) and I'll give you an amulet to empower angels. Of course, there's only one amulet, so most of us can't do much, but things are acting up, so some of us (not me though. I stayed behind to chant for Doman in the beginning) go to watch over Raziela. You see, we had to defend her, which means that we had to stay by her the whole time. Our defenders need to stay there to defend against something that they have no idea what is. I and Bellarin managed to get some information from a forestal so we knew that we were to keep this fae away from Raziela at all costs. In order to find out this, I had to coerce the information out of a reluctant forestal who probably only spilled the beans because he/she knew me and didn't originate from the commune. And when I got that information, not only did Japhiel say against me on it, but it was way too late to actually relay the information efficiently to the defenders. In fact, I think Raziela might already have been "poisoned" by the time I found out that. Not too sure, I was on Celestia.
Later on, after Doman has empowered for the Nth time, I finally join a group into Muud in order to try and help Raziela. I, along with Aridus, managed to somehow survive the violent battle there and ended up in a mental duel over Raziela against Feyrll, Madara and Iytha. A fight which, and this may be my bias, but I think I am not, was unfavourably against me and Aridus. Of course, it was fun to hear everyone shout. I don't know what happen during the latter part though. After being killed twice, I wouldn't have the time to return to Raziela before my connection would die again.
Fast forward to now, and we have the end of an event that (to me) seemed heavily weighted against us with few clues to go after, erratic Supernal behaviour and having it set up to be 3 against 1. It could have been an interesting event, but it could have improved greatly by being less tedious and if we could've been given some way to figure out the malicious intent of the forest. But all in all, I got to be involved a lot, relatively speaking, and singing songs to Raziela to try and nourish her was fun. It has several points where it could have been improved, but all in all, I would rather have had this event than not.

Psssh, compared to having the Fae eaten and turned into little half-formed Angels, making Raziela listen to an innocent little song doesn't sound so bad . Besides, the Fae don't sing THAT badly, do they?

I think Richter has to replace all the windows in Deepnight the singing was so bad.

Have to echo the commune-side sentiments that we didn't really have much of a choice, otherwise, the event was interesting.

I gave up reading th thread halfway, but in case no ones mentioned it:
Evantru is in the Elder Wars history, book of Clangorum
He was one of the last 10 first circle gods (all the rest had died by then)
He was a overseer of the hamadhi (third circle healers) before the wars
Presumably he sided with Meridian against Fain

I was actually surprised that they would go after Raziela first rather than Gorgulu. While Razzy converts them, Gorgulu...well, he also converts them, but with digestive juices and teeth and such. I would think that the communes would wanna take down Gorgulu first for eating them rather than sweet little Raziela who thinks she's actually helping them.
Sarrasri2008-04-14 00:01:37
Well, get Gorgulu to leave Nil and he'll get a nice song too, I think.
The reasoning is that while Gorgulu/Raziela are on their planes, they're too protected and it wouldn't have an effect, so we only got this opportunity while Raziela wasn't on Celestia.

Would make more sense too, because there is a Magnagoran who actually steals fae, and there wasn't a celestian (that i knew of) that did.

It wasn't a matter of 'going after one first,' it was a matter of "Celest was so stupid as to actually get a Supernal locked away from Celestia... well, they're probably going to get her back (the Fae's words) so we might as well help her out with a little song in the interlude."
