The weapon is somewhat like a cat's claw, though when I was coding it I always thought of it as representing a scorpion's stinger. Sure, it has three blades, but how many cats do you know have poisonous claws? If you make a fist and stretch your arm out straight, a psi is held with blades perpendicular to your arm. In this case the blades would be parallel to your arm, flowing over your fist and pointing straight. They also have the stealth skillset, which is another cat-like quality. I honestly don't know if that's where the name came from. The main theme of the skillset, though, is the scorpion, which is a Glomdoring-like animal. A lot of it revolves around using poisons in unique ways. There are also some sneaky swift or pounce-like moves. Regarding someone's ninja comment, even though they are not called ninjas, I do think they are more ninja-like qualities to it than the first two monk guilds.

Also, spit is my favorite skill. Just because it amuses me to see people spitting on each other.

Where I think the name came from: No body takes us emo Gloomies seriously, and what better way to emphasize this than to insert the Japanese word for cat or kitten into one of our guilds.

And the name obviously comes from neko-te. Neko-te are, essentially, cat claws used by ninjas.

DESCRIPTION:
The Neko-te were usually used by the kunoichi (female ninja). The weapon is strong iron fingernails that were fastened into leather bands fitted on the fingers, and resembled claws (not like that of of the shuko, ashiko) and were also dipped in poisons. The eyes were a favorite spot for slashing.
