WEAPON: NEKO-TE

DESCRIPTION:
The Neko-te were usually used by the kunoichi (female ninja). The weapon is strong iron fingernails that were fastened into leather bands fitted on the fingers, and resembled claws (not like that of of the shuko, ashiko) and were also dipped in poisons. The eyes were a favorite spot for slashing.

Ooohhhh, I want long pointy poison-drenched shiny long claws to rip people wide open. Did I say long?

I only had one kata and it was a stupid one to use against a warrior... and on top of that I could not change the kata mid stream, and so I could not keep using the stuff that was getting through.

Actually cats are well-known bacterial feedbags and carry plenty of ways to infect other cats animals and human beings. A general term for the ailments from kitties is, 'Cat-scratch fever' but it actually includes lots of different ailments caused from being subjected to their saliva through either their claws, teeth or even tongue. So simply licking (spitting maybe) from a cat can cause an infection.

Doesn't make as much sense as Scorpion. But.. if one wanted to argue for the point of the skillset fitting kitties they could. tongue.gif

It's no longer emofist. It's emoclaw, clearly. Or maybe just emomeow, or emokitty.

As for me.. honestly I've been inactive for months now.. I've been waiting patiently for Glomdoring to get their Monk guild as I had started right about when the Monks were announced and I knew from the moment I heard of it I wanted to play as a monk and much to my disdain I'm stuck on Glomdoring, never have had any intention of trying another city just to play as a Monk.. So.. zomg nekotai please open >.< I've waited so long.

The craw!

Given the skill set, I never thought to say Nekotai Neko-tai... it looks more to me like Ne Co Tay.

The Japanese tend to sound out the 'i.' Exceptions are when it's proceeded by an 'e'. Example: Gotei: "Gho-tay," (they put a kind of h sound after the g, like the sound of "ho" in "home") means commanding officer.

And I do have to admit, the spit skill is really funny and totally awesome.

Defron invokes Amihai with an iron nekai but loses focus, failing to impale you in the gut.
Your illusory doppleganger completely absorbs the damage.

Gut only, 3p, requires being in the next room, no other kick/attack. It does have its uses, though! Some good ones, too.
Hyrtakos2008-04-18 14:09:31
That is also likely a bug since it is giving you the rupture lines before the actual attack.

The AB says it gives two ruptures-- how is that a bug?

You see the rupture lines before the attack which caused them, unlike any other forms of giving ruptures.

They do that sometimes with things, and fix them when they feel like it (like bonenose!)-- but the 2 rupture thing is hardly a bug, since it says right in the AB that's how it works.
Hyrtakos2008-04-18 14:30:15
Then it's a good thing I never said the ruptures themselves were a bug. To leave the messages like that serves little purpose beyond making it easily illusionable as far as I can tell (not that it would be a worthwhile illusion).

You do realize that if a person is talking about 2 ruptures in an attack, and you say "That is likely a bug," it sounds an awful lot like you're saying "That is likely a bug"? There wasn't any discussion about the order of the lines before that.

Not that you can illusion it, because it still DOES follow part of the attack: The "springs in from the dir" line.
Hyrtakos2008-04-18 14:35:28
I clearly mentioned the locations of the lines when speaking of it as a bug, and the springing in from a direction is -not- a requirement for this skill. It can be done within the room with you and the ruptures are the first thing you see.

"It gives two ruptures! Powerful!"
"That's likely a bug since it gives the rupture lines before the attack line."

So, while you may not have actually been talking about the ruptures as being the bug, it definitely reads as if you were. The "that's" isn't referencing the thing actually being discussed, but a different part of the log.

I was not aware that it could be done from in the room, though (as my first post mentions). Interesting.
