City equivalent to alchemy and vise versa

You'd run out after a bit, for kegs. For cubes, not only would you run out after a bit, but half the benefit of enchanting isn't something you can cube up anyway - statues, sigils, sigil destruction (!), paintings and a couple other things. Plus, unlike with kegs, you can't just get a raw jewellery item and have it enchanted with mercy from a cube.

Yeah, Shiri explained better how Communes get shafted without an Enchanter. You still get healing potions though, which I guess is what the cities are most afraid to lose. It's not uncommon to use several of those each day.

Ok, but that just sounds like a reasonable cost for war, if war is needed.

(except maybe the sigil thing) but it always seems to be the cities who want to go to war with both forests, but "can't" because of alchemy.

i.e. I never hear of serens or gloms asking to go to war against both celest and magnagora.

Basically, it just sounds like that Celest or Magnagora just needs to accomplish thier goal before they run out of the stockpiles of kegs they buy beforehand.

Ta da! The answer! We don't need city/commune equivalents. Just a lot of gold to stockpile. Then, commune vs. city could begin...

Or we can look at this idea....

Where I present another idea that offers many of the same things, and a little extra, but leaving enchantments and alchemy still better then the 'mimiced' equivalents.

or.. we could just have a denizen like acahea and refill all vials at a large amount versus the standard price alchemists

If this gets implemented, the refill prices should be high (100% or maybe 50% higher than the normal price range). content.gif

There's probably a better way of doing it, honestly, but the plan is sound enough.

And the whole point is to free up commune+city allegiances/alliances, unless you're saying the game is better off with them (which isn't necessarily absurd, but I'm not clear on whether you're saying it or not.)

Well, cities and communes don't HAVE to work together.
There are plenty of alternative ways to go about refilling your vials, aethershops being one of them.
Or simply walk to a commune and refill there. I mean it really isn't that hard.

From a metagamer point of view, ya, you need your precious health vials and whatnot.
But you all want this out of convenience. And maybe the cities SHOULD rely on the communes sometimes,
and maybe the communes SHOULD rely on the cities sometimes. That doesn't mean they need to love eachother in the process.
