I came for the histories, I came -back- for Glomdoring, and I stayed because of Shayle.

I came because of the Tae'Dae.
I stuck around because of the Paladins.
I still watch this place, because of the great playerbase and interesting deep combat.

Lesse...I came here with my friend after we left our last MUD. We liked it a lot, but we needed to move on. Umm...and after bouncing from MUD to MUD, we decided to give Lusternia a shot. What I really liked about Lusty was the playerbase. People were really awesome and super willing to help out and stuff. People like Fania, Xedrik, Nezha, Meprion, Adella and Pharamon were all super willing to help me out and teach me all that I needed to know. The roleplay is fantastic too, there's always things to do every day and nothing's ever boring.
The only thing I regret joining is me probably being unable to quit @_@

well after 5 years of Aetolia, bashing up to 100, trying to start a guild there and getting stabbed in the back by the admin about it ( funny how some of our ideas there got translated into some of the monk skills here... =\\ ) I decided to try Lusty when my gf decided to move on from Aet.
I love the monk classes here, shofangi especially. I love how the guild structure is set up in each city/commune, and I hope it stays rather small in the amount of archtypes per city.
Macawi is very helpful in teaching total noobs and very patient and understanding, unlike a certain other person that should be that way based on their position in the guild... And that other person actually almost pushed me away from the game =(

My first experience on the first day of open beta, on Guido, was walking out of the Portal of Fate and through a firewall, immediately dying.
Good times.
Good times.

My first impressions were Valek and Daevos pretty much just mowing down scores of celestians in the good ole days.
Oh man I miss Valek... D:

I find some of the players characters interesting to watch. One of the more interesting players was really helpful. Although how she spoke was not always easy to make sense of, she explained things clearly, or at least I thought. Made it easier trying to learn the game. I still feel like I'm missing huge patches of knowledge though, so much to take in. I'm not all big on combat and levels and all that other stuff, while it is fun to do. I enjoy what RP I observe and can interact with. I have yet to look into the communes or Magnagora though for RP. I hear good things!
Aside from players and the RP, I do like to script. I'm not some big motivated programmer or anything, but I enjoy making scripts to solve my own problems.
So to summarize, Lusternia I guess, while it has a lot of it's own concepts, I can get what I'm looking for in other MUDs, RP and scripting. Do I have to look for those other MUDs though? No, I already found Lusternia. I just wish RP was enforced more, and better.

Lusternia is certainly not the first MUD I've played (not by a long-shot) but it is one of the most richest in its descriptions and the history. What I like about it is that its not just a simple place for bashing everything that moves, though that's fun sometimes and I've even tanked in other muds.
What keeps me here is there are actually people online when I am and there is so much to do and explore about the place. I've been to other MUDs that have far more RP, but that's insanely hard to do with only a small handful of people rattling around the place.
Meeting all you funny nutcases is great too, and I mean that in the nicest possible way.

My very first village influencing. Before there were sanctuaries and crusades. And debating. Those were fun times.

I came for Celest.
I left because of Celest.
I came back for Vathael.
I stayed for Geomancer Champion/d'Murani. Mostly d'Murani.

I started playing because of Ixion and the Nihilists. After I've suicided my first char, I stayed because of the Serenguard. And I'm gonna leave because getting good at combat is so god damn expensive, I cannot afford ooc credits, and I don't have the time, nor the patience to hunt and harvest non-stop so I will at least have a fair chances of killing someone who isn't very weak or a novice.

Don't let your goals get too far ahead of where you are now. You're doing extremely well for someone with limited time on his hands.
Get your combat system completed and sell it for credits. That's the way to get to the higher tiers the fastest without OOC credits.

Jack, that's very nearly relevant and almost insightful. I demand you return to pithy, flippant non-sequiturs. Think of the children!

Fun people, and Admins who actually care about the people who play the game AND the game.
Much love to the Paladins though.

Seconded. Jigan actually was one of the reasons that I stayed through a spell when I very nearly quit due to massive amounts of stress and other ooc problems.

Considering the transcendent skill of Ascendance is so terrible, I demand it be renamed Ass-end-ance!
You know, because it's comparable to someones ass? Ha-ha.
