Equilibirum/Balance penalty on tae'daes is still horrible. The relative speed increase might be enough to justify the fire weakness, and maybe a one-tier reduction in the sip bonus, but to remove the sip bonus entirely just seems over the top. From someone who's played a tae'dae almost exclusively, please reconsider.

The illithoid now look like very viable monks. thumbs up to this change
Yep, love those changes! Thank you!

So, how about them bard specs? -twiddle-
Malarious2008-04-24 06:23:46
I like talkans thoughts on monk forms and knight weapons.
Kephera DO NOT need any upgrades although I can agree with lsightly higher str for the males. Make the weakness back to fire and cold please.. no one really uses poison.
Tae'Dae are crazy... even with the speed loss I could tank and kill guardians of a domoth far easier than I could as a viscanti. Even with such low (11) int to effect damage.. the con and resistances just make it far superior in flat out tank.
I know I forgot something, but it will come to me
Also.. (fix muggys )

If....we are going to keep armour/greatrobes the same as they are then I think Kephera are fine. If however there is going to be an armour change to make chainmail more frequently used for example wouldn't we need that to be figured in first?

No because they can still wear splendours which is better than normal great robes.

Seems like there are easier solutions than this anyway.
Remove rushing and hyperactive, remove the speedup of monk forms. Raise the floor and lower the ceiling for knight weapons.
This would negate the problems with monk's stuns and grapples and the extremeness of high ended knights on cloth while allowing the lower ended knights being useful.
It's much easier and it won't destroy speed races (and yes, the racial changes would indeed obliterate mugwumps. They rely on extreme speed and halfing their speed would be completely unreasonable for the damages they take with the tiny health they have available. Even a mugwump timeslipping while quickened can't negate all attacks currently.)

As I said: Monks can't kill anyone without stuns or grapples, but that's going to be changed, it seems, so I am happy. The only thing I really dislike about these changes is the one to the regen of Demi for which I'd trade in any stat-increase, but eh. I'll just have to get regenrunes.
And, from what I saw, the change doesn't seem to be terrible much. At level 2 equi, Ali had a difference of 0.2 seconds, which...really isn't that much.

Hence the problem with drains now
Speed guilds just got ferked

A difference of 0.2 seconds from before to after.

If regen is going to be nerfed then couldn't it be level 1 for titan and level 2 for demigod at least?
Rika2008-04-24 07:50:10
I don't get why we need to be nerfed, now that the speed races are getting nerfed anyway. Some people need to appreciate how much work it actually is to hunt to titan/demi.

Neither do I, but if we are I want to try and minimize the damage a bit.
Malarious2008-04-24 08:08:58
I am all for specializing demigods (specs life...) but it would end up mostly people going life unless they have other benefits.. like speccing by fate >.>
Rika2008-04-24 08:12:40
I want the speccing by fates thing. Ressurection ftw.
Malarious2008-04-24 08:18:01
I cant remember what the old ideas where.. one was like
Death:
boosted damage
influence undead
something
somethine
something
Life:
Can ress
more health
divinefire twice?
something
something
and the third option

that resistance to poison damage, is that actually useful?
