Ever try a fist sigil? That usually is effective against mobs making you unwield and drop; dunno if supermobs have something special going on though (I never fought any supernals or demon lords or avatars or aspects or etc.).

Unless they changed it, fist doesn't help. I lost a katana a looong time ago with a fist on it there... That one was lost for good tho.... but it was a crappy one anyways. (although selfishness is a better way to be effective against mobs who unwield and drop too and alas that doesnt work as well
