I need to do something to alleviate my frustration and forget my depression, so I thought I'd post my art here. Wait...no, that's not a good thing to say, since it'll probably just make me more frustrated because I'll get critiqued harshly...

Anyway, I know there's a lot wrong with this pic. Ongaku looks girlier than I really meant him to (he really should have more muscles than that, and his jaw is a bit too soft), but whatever, I'm happy with it so far. The background is just green so I can tell it apart from his white robes. Be as brutal as you want, I really don't care anymore.

Oh yeah, for those of you who are wondering, the magic tome he's holding has J.R.R. Tolkien Elven script on it that should read "Libellus Geomancie". Unfortunately, I think I did it wrong and it says something like "Libellus Egomansi". I think Egomancy is something like waffle magic.

Talk about my pic! I personally the tail. I think it's turned out very nicely, I just need to learn to stop screwing with it.

The fur effect looks different in the tail than in the hair, and the well-drawn dress looks like a different style of art from the rest of the body. But that's just to my mind. It's an excellent mental picture, and you've done really well with him. Kudos.

It's a robe, not a dress. He's not THAT femmy. but it won't look as different once I get all the detail and shading on it.

That's his staff.

Oh. Phew.

Whenever I thought of Geo staffs, I always imagined some really twisty hunk of rock/wood/earth that had some taint oozing/hissing/puffing out the end. Hmm!

(Granted, I haven't actually seen the description of one.)

The staff is long, around seven feet total, and is made of black, petrified wood
with silvery stripes running all along its length. Intricate, arcane designs and
runes are carved throughout the rock-like wood and are accented by tiny,
shimmering black and golden crystals, reminiscent of eyes. The top of the staff
is bulbous, and from it jut many large ebon and golden crystals that radiate an
eerie, violet aura. An ominous black miasma swirls around the bottom few feet of
the staff, proof that the staff itself is overflowing with taint.
It weighs about 10 pounds.
It bears the distinctive mark of Geophyte Ongaku n'Kylbar of the Ouroboros.

That is my customized staff pictured. I don't remember the desc for the normal Geo staves.

For a second I thought the staff was a tumour-riddled breast. XD

You guys are silly if you couldn't tell it was a staff.

I do need to fix the coloring on the crystals though. If anyone knows of any pics of crystals like those, please send it to me so I can see the coloring.

Hey, I thought it was a rock. A really weird looking rock that had almost no detail to it.



Otherwise, I do like it. The fur is lovely.

I really like it! It looks very nice, except for the background as was stated previously. It makes me wish I had some sort of artistic talent. How long did this take?


P.S. I also had no idea what the staff was.

So far, it's taken...uh...I'll say around a half hour to do the original sketch, maybe five minutes or so to ink, and about five to six hours just to do that little bit of coloring. The background will be changed once I've finished up all of Ongaku's form. I'm absolutely DREADING doing the robes.
