I really, really dig the soft, fluffy, fuzzy look to the hair and tail, but it seems like his skin should also have a very faint fuzziness to match them? You have an excellent, excellent eye for texturing, though.

You mentioned somewhere in the thread about looking up crystal references... try a ye olde Google image search for, hmm... sulfur crystals primarily are probably closest to what you're looking for, but apatite has the right shape, or quartz (specifically citrines).

Oh, and Gaku's skin doesn't have hair. He will have a patch of white fur on his chest though towards the end of the process. And the textures? Well, I just happen to have all the right brushes, I suppose.

I like the hair and the tail. Onkagu does seem a bit androgyn though, perhaps more angular facial features? I can't wait to see it ready!

So this is what my brother looks like. Not bad - it looks almost like my style, but...better. Mainly because I never color anything, but also aesthetically...bah, whatever. If I go into too much detail you'll ask me to post something. (The answer is no.)
Anyway, the picture. Mainly, I agree with everyone else...kind of feminine/androgynous, but that's not necessarily bad. It is, of course, if you were going for a manly appeal, but it doesn't seem like you were. And, I seem to be the other person that gathered that it was a staff without reading the thread. Yay me!

Yeah, he sure is. He's managed to capture a look of malevolent cunning in the eyes, which is "scary". Though no, I don't find him particularily scary. This person is about five times as feminine and twenty times as scary though.
