When looking at the damage amounts, please keep in mind other classes other than warriors and mages.
Bards can do damage kills, monks I assume can do damage kills, warriors, mages.
It is really annoying hearing people complain about 2k damage from a warrior, and then hear about 2.5K damage from some other class.
There are reasons to be the weaker races. DMP, less hinderance, more agile offense, greater versatility etc.
The issue is that before any of these changes, a damage warrior was more rare than a guild champion.
There should theoretically be 50% speed warriors and 50% damage warriors, or something close to that.
Bards can do damage kills, monks I assume can do damage kills, warriors, mages.

Erm, Forren with the champ staff dosen't even reach 2.5k damage. I'm not sure who you've been sparring. That's not to mention when bards and whoever else damage you, that's all they do. Damage. When warriors hit you for 2k, you also get wounds, maybe a wounds affliction, and maybe a poison. Not to mention some can stun with it too. They aren't really comparable.
edit: for comparison..when I was a mugwump with the champ staff and 18 int, I did maybe 1800 to high health warriors.

He didn't have a +15% magic rune either, he was talking about getting one though, but not sure if he ever did
edit - also as a geo what are your damages poison or something? arent aquas cold That also can play into it. Most people don't have poison vulnerabilities, some have cold vuln's though.... just a side thought

I just hit bashara a bunch of times with him healing, but wearing no armor and no defences. as a tae'dae with 200/155/145 weapons, and 21 str, I killed him in 3 "attacks".
I think maybe each stat should increase by %4 instead of %5. But otherwise I think its good.

I'm fine with trying that but note that at 4%, you won't reach 45% until around stat 23 (originally it was 20) so most people (except those that can get a 24/25 str) will see a decrease in what they used to do. Maybe that's a good thing!

Actually, at a certain point he did do over 2k damage to some people per staff, and his staff never missed. I personally only experience 1600 per staff, but then again I played the game of resistance stacking to deal with high damage.
Also, you as a mugwump with the champ staff had a speed bonus, and was hitting with that staff along with a demesne doing more than +1100 damage to that same warrior every 10 seconds if you timed it right. Along with that, you could pop phantoms on a warrior for about 600 every 10 seconds (which could also help hinder and give afflictions), and your demesne can cause hunger that will cause a person to take a good deal of damage, if the person does not keep enough food on his/her person. So, if you are going to compare, compare all that you had in your damage arsenal, not just one aspect of it.
Now do I think warrior damage and wounds are too much right now? Yes, I do agree that is the case. My point concerning you and your example is that you leave out other aspects of your damage offense except for the staff, and then try to compare that to the entirety of the warrior damage offense. You want to make a real comparison that can be taken seriously; you have to compare it all to each other.

Magic damage is pretty laughable. Zap damage on it's own has always been very high. But if you look at the cudgel damage and just one swing, not combo, but one swing from Sojiro's broadsword, he already does more damage+wounds+potential afflictions+poison. Admittedly, there's way more defenses to bypass, but a 5% natural miss rate is minimal compared with ways to easily bypass defenses (power attacks) and the possible damage output. I'm not sure if I made sense there.
I think mugwumps need con boosts though and/or lightning reduction. Very base demigod mugwump health is 4500, meaning no runes, ectera.
Also, while I understand for combat reasons speed bonuses needed to go. Lusternia isn't all PvP. I mean, there's all those points where conflict dies a lot. But besides that point, my main issue is about bashing and bashing speed. There will be no chance whatsoever for any non warrior/monk class to keep up with warriors/monks in terms of bashing speed. For bashing, those classes get either max speed weapons or forms which increase up to maximum speed. Not to mention monks tend to have rushing or hyperactivity at their disposal, but every class has their various advantage abilities. In essence, the only way magic classes could achieve max speed bashing was by going mugwump. With the reduction in speed bonuses, we need a new way to keep up. Only guardian classes have quickening and even then, that costs 3 power for 20 seconds or so.
What we need is some new attack or such that can only be used to attacked denizens and it allows us to attack at the maximum speed level. There are several reasons for this.
1) future events that rely on bashing. I.E. all death events/competitions
2) people already dislike demesnes or being demesne puppets. Add on top that they now are going to be bashing slower than before and people will want to become these classes even less.
3) I lost my train of thought
I also forgot that bards music attacks actually are very fast on their own with improved music. This is the kind of thing druids/mages/guardians/wiccans need. Some kind of adeptness level that will increase their speed (doesn't have to increase damage too) as it rises in adeptness. This would only speed up the particular attack skill for each class.
This is a really important oversight that I haven't heard any consideration on I believe.

You mean only for bashing, correct? Just want to make sure it is clear you do not mean pvp. I know you mentioned it in a few sentences above, but I still want to make sure what you meant about increasing base speed of moonburst, nightkiss, ect was only for pve.

right I want it to be just for bashing and I had overlooked that changing those skills would also affect pvp. Ideally, I'd prefer if we all just get a new attack purely for PvE that can't be used to target players and it's speed would match 280 speed weapons/maestro instruments.
