Really its kind of annoying to hear warriors talk about how other warriors arent hard.
Warrior v Warrior combat is insanely different from Warrior v Robe class combat. I already know that, but other people just happen to make my class look bad
Also, I switched to Orclach because I wanted to be tankier. I was sick of bashing as an Aslaran and getting WTFPWNED by stuff other guys my level were breezing through. But my 8 Int now makes me mana-drain kill fodder. It makes me cry to see my mana when surged

Ohm Malarious, Thoros use to kill Demigod warriors as a Nihilist. Forren killed demigod warriors as a Mage. Narsrim killed Demigod warriors as a Celestine, Bard, and Mage. All of those people I mentioned were in robes.
And all of those people you mentioned were PK metagaming .

Didnt thoros used to kill you by quickening and double aeon most of the time or using quicken aeon till demon hit then going from there?
Forren had a demesne to heal and cure him while delaying enemy (almost like a demon but not quite).
Narsrim tends to starleaper then inqui soulless most doesnt he..? or vapors soulless if they have sacraments? Bard I remember him dying to shikha.. but knights he slew? Hmm..
You may have a point I just want to note some of the things they do or could do that I cant or dont. I can choose to quicken aeon every second if you prefer though... some people would be rather pissy though.

As for Krellan, he's got arties. If it was a regular Hartstone like me, even counting that I'm Kephera, it's likely not going to happen.
Last I checked, Anisu had some too. Yay arties making surviving a little easier.
Furien2008-04-27 10:05:58
Yes, but balancing Druids around having arties to survive and be viable is going to turn us into warriors. Which is either already where we're at or something slightly worse off. Point is, I'd rather not have to pump 2k credits into arties to be able to play my class decently (Hey, warriors again), but that's a really big beaten-senseless tangent.
..What was I getting at, again? Oh, right, they're very fortunate to have that advantage. I'm not. I'd rather not have my eventual (Read: 10 years off) regen from Demi/VA be worthless because they decided to balance it around Druids with arties. Or something like that. It's 3 in the morning, damnit.

Being a viable warrior is like getting arties anyway.

Err..I'm not trying to generalize something though, but Anisu herself. Also, I know that it'd be hard for folk to attempt to hold a throne as a druid, but I guess I'm sorry for trying to remain optimistic as opposed to just saying that no, you absolutely have no chance at all at holding a crown-level throne?
But anyway, having deviated enough for the thread, I'd still really appreciate knowing where exactly I should be shoving that bardic change into, but so far, I'm guessing it'll have to wait for another month and another slot to be used up on an envoy report, I guess.

But anyway, I still really do want to know the answer to that proposition of mine for bards in general in light of these racial changes. Because if I don't know, I'll be rescinding my maze nerf to put this in appropriately so that bards aren't actually shafted completely and make them happy and viable rather than everyone else happy and unviable.

I am still hoping for a change to monk PvP. The racechoices are pretty neat and fixed, now we just need to actually need to use our main spec with some kata instead of nearly all kata and a little spec.

That may be happening, but if it is it'll be on the monk committee. Talk to, I don't know, Desitrus or Kaervas or someone.

That is precisely what brought on these changes. They made high strength warriors not worthwhile and left most people heading for the speed races... which in turn were nerfed.
What they often avoid, is the fact that the recent problem lied in races that are fast (with lower strength) who increase their strength to the max of it not getting gimped. "You're faster, so we'll make strength matter more for you since you'll be using it more often." The logic is mind-boggling once you piece it together.

This is the essence of warrior racial problems- very good assessment.
The current distribution doesn't reward almost at all for having very high str (Rika's numbers serve as a tragic example..). The stronger races have disadvantages based on the false assumption that high str has a significant impact, whereas much less str and no balance penalty (or balance advantage) is grossly superior in all aspects.
Dumbed down a bit:
CAUSE: They fixed the warriors who could obtain obscene str (21++) by reducing the effectiveness of high strength and made the low-mid str more impacting
EFFECT1: All high str races are in utter ruin
EFFECT2: Speed races dominate, especially with buffs/titan/demi/etc
Ashteru2008-04-27 12:47:05
There's only one thing I don't get: Sipbonus was nerfed because of Tae'dae...who then got theirs taken away? O.o
Shiri2008-04-27 12:48:14
Also for aslaran.
Ashteru2008-04-27 12:57:15
Who then got their penalty taken away too...
Unknown2008-04-27 13:04:54
So. Remove the radical negative scaling of stats past 12? Give faster races a few more points in their relevant stats to make them viable without making them ridiculous (due to speed now being nerfed)?
