Yeah, Gagging > Limiting scry.
Dysolis2008-04-30 23:09:50
I happen to be a player, Id rather have it limited. but if I am shot down ninty percent then I suppose this fourm needs to take the form of a poll then eh?

also, I always assume the worst, If I turn on aether sight back on again, the spam will happen once more. There is no point in having the skill with abusers there. I realize it happens everywhere, I just wish people would respect it a little bit more, and the only reason why I spamed it on you Ethelon was in retaliation.

actually I was hunting someone else, but if they are intent on my death then yes I will hunt Marath as well.

1) Estar (mid-winter) 7) Dvarsh (mid-summer)
2) Urlachmar (late winter) 8) Tzarin (late summer)
3) Kiani (early spring) 9) Klangiary (early autumn)
4) Dioni (mid-spring) 10) Juliary (mid-autumn)
5) Vestian (late spring) 11) Shanthin (late autumn)
6) Avechary (early summer) 12) Roarkian (early winter)

Today is the 25th of Avechary, 205 years after the Coming of Estarra.

Restricting Aethersight to same area only... not only is that a ridiculous nerf for a trans skill, what would stop Jumper A from having Friend B monitor Victim C from afar while he hunts them down? Makes the skill pretty pointless, don't you think? You may as well not even have it then, unless you plan to make scrying same area only, too and then where will we be?

Personally, I'd just suck it up and ignore the repetitive scrying, or figure out some kind of temporary gag on it as suggested when they start doing it in rapid succession like that. In situations like these, the offender will more often than not get bored if you don't give them the satisfaction of a response, such as scrying them back, or running to the forums to whine about it. (Oh, hey! Look, an entire thread about it! Lulz!)

Speaking as someone who uses a gem of cloaking in conjunction with Aethersight, as well as an almost OCD habit of scenting (wub.gif Totems) in order to avoid people who might have it in for me, I'd rather not have an ability that took me a somewhat considerable amount of time and effort to obtain made significantly less effective. I admit that no one has ever done something like this to me personally, not to that extent anyway, but I honestly don't think it's that big of a deal.

But hey, that's just my take on the matter. mellow.gif

Abusers are always there. There are CERTAIN PEOPLE WhoDoNotEvenNeedToBeNamed that will abuse whatever they can, however they can, so long as it's not officially a bug. They'll always exist. I agree with your sentiment. Let's remove aethersight completely that way you won't have to deal with the spam. :xinemus:

this honestly should just be moved to idiots

I somehow think players would rather deal with scrying spam than to have scrying limited.

Absolutely.
Ethelon2008-05-01 01:37:01
Well, this is all silly in my opinion since Dysolis wants to cry here and then lie. Mate, you scried back in turn nearly every time, so yes, your post was in fact edited. Before I started scrying you, you spam scried me because I was watching you move about. And the newbie... well, you did send him a tell saying you were going to hunt him and kill him.

The only way around it is to have all scrying have a 'recovery' period of a 30 seconds (or whatever), but I somehow think players would rather deal with scrying spam than to have scrying limited.

chin.gif Spam scrying doesn't come up thaaat much but I'm not sure that's a bad idea anyway!
Ashai2008-05-01 01:44:54
Let's not balance the whole game around people that do stupid things.

No. That is an absolutely terrible, horrible, no-good, very very bad idea. Doing that would make me have one of these:

PS. Does anyone else remember that book from when you were little?
Shiri2008-05-01 01:49:10
No, and what is that image supposed to be?
Xavius2008-05-01 01:50:24
It's a book cover. Books are those bound sheets of paper printed with words dealing with the same subject. Silly Brit.
Doman2008-05-01 01:51:59
Oh, snap!

Shiri2008-05-01 01:58:33
*smack*

I know that.

But why is the kid in the enormous yellow THING sitting inbetween the foot of his bed and the second set of bedposts!?
Xavius2008-05-01 01:59:57
He's rolled over on his side, clutching his pillow. You can see his hips. That "yellow thing" is what we Americans call "sheets." Ugly sheets, but sheets.
Shiri2008-05-01 02:00:53
Oh, that makes a little more sense.
Rika2008-05-01 02:03:16
He's obviously lying on his bed, with his head on his pillow. As the title suggests, I think he is Alexander, who has just had a terrible, horrible, no good, bad day. Silly Brit.

Ninja'd, but I just wanted to say the last bit anyway. happy.gif
Dysolis2008-05-01 02:35:34
aethersight off = scry as much as you please, I think that's fair enough.

( I haven't posted in a while , so I ran out of things to post)
