I am generally against making artifacts that simply give you a skill someone else has, but for this, I would make an exception:

Rune of the Mind's Knife (100cr): TOUCH the item to which the rune is attached to turn the Mind's Knife on and off. Whenever it's on, those who scry you will take damage exactly as the Psychometabolism skill Mindfield. Having the Mind's Knife active will cause you a mana drain, about the same amount as Metawake.

Pretty sure I could regenerate mindfield damage. Even if I couldn't, if I was intent on annoying someone, I could just sip it off every few attempts - and for casual scries it wouldn't bother me at all. Fortunately mindfield now does something useful on top of that, but the scry thing is totally irrelevant.

I find that knowing who's teleporting in and out , is a lot more useful than who's actually locating you.

I remember that book very well, infact I just read it to someone a few weeks ago!


The thing I don't like about the "turn aethersight off" thing, is that is costs power to turn it back on.. and... like someone said, the aethersight is really used for people teleporting, which this just makes bad.

I don't think you should be allowed to scry someone more than once ever 2 seconds. Think of the lag!

The point isn't to make it impossible to annoy someone, just to make sure that if you do it, you're going to be annoying yourself too. That's enough to eliminate most of the "just to be a jerk" uses, I think, while still allowing uses where it actually matters. Even when it doesn't eliminate jerkish spam-scry, it gives the victim a sense of satisfaction that will blunt the annoyance. May not wet your whistle, but I bet if they made them, they'd sell lots of them.

See, it shouldn't take this long for somebody to have something constructive, and not just useless "ignore it" bullcrap. Why should a player have to turn it off or to gag it? Granted, with a script, you could time the gags so that you can still see people scrying you, but it would ignore all spam, but why should anyone have to make that?

It took that long because *you* decided that all the other options were not constructive. Its all in how you look at it.

Please. That is completely irrelevant. Do you have any idea how many games are broken because of the changes made by the ones in power? What they say isn't always best. Even more so from the people in power since their motives are not always for the best.

Ummm ok, look lil man... This stupid topic has been seen 100's of times.... people bitch about scrying... wah wah wah... I don't like being spam scried but I deal with it if I am choosing to have aethersight on.

Just because you think it isn't right to see all the scrying, there actually IS something you can do about it. If I am being spam scried I will turn off aethersight UNLESS I am up to no good in the first place (which 90% of the time spam scrying happens)

They have already nerfed scrying ALOT. Maybe you were still in the womb when people could scry anyone while being in a manse, but now you cannot even scry from manse to manse.

So maybe, just maybe the admins gave you the option to turn off aethersight.... for a reason. Get over it, learn to effin deal with it or turn it off. But if you insist on whining more about it, you can do that too. It is always fun to see people cry over some dumb things.
