It used to be broken, in that it would always do a minimum of 800 or something no matter what the max mana was (weird bug, don't ask).

All mana draining skills (and I do mean all) are heavily percentage-based. Succumb has never done that to you, and you are not confusing it for another mana drain skill that did that to you.

I guarantee you could, which goes back to "trying to mana-kill targets with a lot of mana" etc. This also links to "using all of your offense" such as fae, choke, hexbombing, etc.

10% + 300 of 2000 mana == 1/4 (TrueCaw). I think Amissio is 10% + 400... either that, or Lash is. That's 600/2000, or almost a third. Surged mid-level warrior can have mana around that.

Succumb, pre-nerf, was a % + like 500 or something. It was absolute murder against knights. Especially considering it could be applied and tick almost back-to-back. It was later toned down, but the fact remains that almost all mana draining skills have a % + base that adds up fast on low mana targets.

Succumb has always been a % + a number based on your Magic.

However, there was a bug where it would do this calculation, and if that number was below 800, it would just throw out the result and drain 800. It took a fair bit of work to track that one down.

If your mana was over the threshold where it actually would do just the flat percentage, you were fine (as you said).

The double-tick fix does help a lot.
