Regarding music, I find that I have trouble writing when listening to anything with lyrics so I usually like to listen to movie soundtracks--how lame is that!
That's a good one -- the Serenity soundtrack is a good inspiration source too for me.
I usually can't write while there's music around though -- I listen to (certain) music and then it makes me want to (turn it off and) write. Even when I'm writing prose, I need to hear the melody of the words in my head and any other melody conflicts. That's really the only time when I voluntarily have no music around me.

Lots of tea and scandinavian folk music on rainy days.

I usually sit, stare at Wordpad, and hope something hits me, too.. Usually the strangest everyday things will spark ideas, but most of them don't make it to the finished-product stage. Depends on what floats to the surface when I actually sit down to do it.
I have trouble concentrating on reading, writing, or doing any other sort of mental work in general when there's music-with-words-in-it as well. Soundtracks are nice.

Not very. I love listening to soundtracks, movie, or... even nerdier... video game soundtracks.
Some video game soundtracks are pretty awesome though.
Anyway, I like to read or think of other books or literature to get myself writing. Also mythos.

Music, absolutely. Depending on the mood of what I'm writing, I'll listen to anything and everything. I agree that lyrics can often distract, but I find they're also a wonderful source of imagery. For painting or visual work, I listen almost exclusively to classical music, or songs with an orchestral, operatic feel (a Nightwish playlist, for example, or Metallica's S&M album. Emma Shapplin is also brilliant.)
I also listen to particular types of music when interacting with certain people in-game, because it helps put me in the proper mood. On the occasion of a dinner in Rosegate with several well-known members of Glomdoring society, for example, the songs on my playlist featured harpsichords.
If it doesn't involve a computer, I try to get outside whenever possible. I get a lot of wonderful ideas just meandering through the yard, sitting on the lakeshore, or hiking down a path through the woods.

Lusternia gives me ideas on things to draw. Inspiration though music, reading and art is all well and good, but nothing holds a candle to the overwhelming fear of the deadline! The deadline is my true inspiration. I never seem to get anything done when it’s up to me to self-motivate. I use Lusternia as more of a way to get myself in the mode for creation on a regular basis.
