I may be kinda new at this but just a thought, should we really just start lynching on the first day? The odds of getting someone who deserves it is appallingly low, at this point, wouldn't it just help the Mafia?

You have to lynch on the first day. Otherwise night doesn't start. Also, even if you could, it would just give the mafia another chance at getting a kill without a chance at getting one yourself.

So the general strategy for town seems to be to pounce on anyone with a slight amount of suspicion and bandwagon on them (which you need to to actually get a lynch day 1 due to lack of info) and maybe switch targets if someone more suspicious comes up in the course of investigation.

I am gone a night and it's six pages? O.o

Anyway, how many votes do we need to lynch? Maybe we should approach this...carefully.

We need either 12 or 13, so we can afford to pile a few more onto Othero or Shaddus (or Xavius). Maybe stop at 10 so the mafia can't ninja gank, if we think they're dumb enough to reveal their identity like that, or 11 if not.

Completely unhelpful. On the other hand, it is Arix, and I don't really expect any better from him.

It's not even as though the game is very long yet. Nor have there even been any particularly wall-of-texty posts. If you're going to participate you should at least try to read the game.

And to respond to this:You don't HAVE to lynch on a given day (you can always vote No Lynch) but no-lynching day 1 is a horrible idea as we don't really find anything out in that case and the scum just get to kill more of us at night. Of course, lynching without any semblance of reason is also a horrendous idea day 1, which is why I'm opposed to this Shaddus bandwagon. Shaddus hasn't exactly put up a stellar defense, sure, but he was just as much of a moron in the last game so I'm tempted to think that's just the way he acts. I'd guess there are at least one or two opportunistic scum on that wagon (Kaalak and Othero, if I had to guess, though I'm by no means positive).

There are a couple of other people I'm getting scum vibes or town vibes from but I think I'm going to hold off on that until I actually have something to point to...

Balizar, I would really request that you not deadline this day yet. There hasn't been enough discussion yet; two RL days is NOT at all a long time for a day to go. (Even a week isn't very long for the early game, IMO, but since you guys seem to prefer faster lynches than I do, I can roll with shorter deadlines, but please longer than two days.)

These long posts could just be Shammy's way of distracting us. There's really just no way to tell who is what at this point based on who voted first, or who joined the bandwagon when, or who didn't use spellcheck.

You could try, you know, reading and analyzing things? Given that that's the most straightforward way of finding scum in any mafia game, I'd say it's worth a try!

However, a good chunk of people have even yet to post. And, reading through the last game, that was enough to make them suspicious there.

This game is one of those things where pretty much anything you say or do (or don't say or don't do) can be psychoanalyzed in some form or fashion. I have my suspicions, but there really isn't a whole lot to base things on right now.

Well excuse me for trying to think of a good reason to lynch someone. You don't find corpse eating suspicious at all?
