Got it again without declaring. Attacked in enemy territory, made sure timer stayed up, still got it when they died. Never declared.
couple questions:
-What territory?
-Are you enemied there?
-Did they die inside the territory or out? (assuming this one is out)

As normal. Kephera. I am not enemied there. They died out as usual.
Edit: And really, they said that with pk Careful on, you should absolutely have to declare to get status, so I'm chalking it up to bugs.

Ok, if there is still a belief of avenger bugs, could someone give us a step-by-step method on how to test if a bug exists?
Revan2008-06-13 01:33:28
Avenger gives me status when I kill people on Prime.
This doesn't happen on other games... so it must be a bug here. Just hope that it gets fixced soon, because oh man have I got noobs to kill.

Testing Defend/Declare in enemy territory. Defend somebody, make sure they don't declare, and have those two be in enemy territory.
Also, test defend/declare like above but have the person they are attacking be in enemy territory.
Edit: In case that didn't make sense, scenario A has two people defending each other in enemy territory and get attacked and/or declared.
Case B has two people defending each other but going to attack somebody in enemy territory, without declaring. And then with declaring.

Try this as a very, very basic one. Person 1 is enemied to territory and in said territory. Person 2 comes in and attacks Person 1 in said territory. What this should do is that Person 1 has an automatic pk declaration. Fighting ensues, Person 1 runs out of the territory but dies to bleeding, giving the kill to Person 2, and if there is a bug, gaining suspect status on Person 2.

And the one that lets you keep engaging for a certain amount of time if they run out of enemy territory, not just bleeding.
Start a fight where the target is in enemy territory. Chase target outside, kill target. Never declare, end up with status. That's a bug, isn't it? My assumption was always that you would have to declare in order to get status or avenger.

Are you enemied to the Illithoid Desitrus? That might have been the bug... Just speculating... You attacked me in kephera territory, I ran to sell all my kephera... then you killed me in Illithoid territory, possibly a place you're enemied to! That's a good one to test too, not just running out of the territory into neutral grounds, but into a zone the original attacker is enemied to!

I thought this was fixed. Are you 100% certain this is still happening? I'd like someone to say they've seen it happen in action, not say they recall it once happened to them in the past. PM me if you see it happen.

I'm 100% certain you fixed that, at least if you follow Krellan's directions exactly.
