Made it up. Top of my head. Google Jack, the only instance it occurs is on these forums.

It's a recycled name, actually. I DMed a D&D campaign a year or so ago where Shye was the name I gave one of the continents.

From a WoT book. I liked the character because she was on the good side, but only in the sense that she wanted good to win.

ie, friend hurting our chances of turning back the tides of evil because of some moral obligation? Moiraine says stab the target of moral obligation, and the friend, let's MOVE! clap_1.gif

My two current characters I am playing, one is a character from a pc game I adore, one is a creature from mythology, though i won't say which.

Generally, when I come up with names I do so ranomly. Random syllables put together on a whim. They have no deep meanings generally and the only criteria real I stick to with names is that I can pronounce them and like the way they sound when I do.

Made it up in my usual way- selecting real world names and then moving around syllables and letters until I like it. Lanath is taken from a pool of Arabic and Persian names (to match up with other Middle Eastern-esque Magnagoran names). I can't remember where "-nath" came from, but the "La-" part comes from Layla, which means "dark beauty". I thought that was fitting. Originally, Lanath was supposed to Lanathe, to be more feminine, but Nexus failed me in that first attempt to create Lanath, happily.
