Unvote and Vote:Rika

It feels like your grasping at straws for Shiri. I understand she is suspicious but not exactly scummy at this moment.

So, since we've now gone from having a lynch to completely scattered votes, perhaps this would be a good time to go back and do some analysis on people and try and come up with a concrete target.

I've decided to look at Rika's posts, and the more I look at them the less I like them

QUOTE(rika @ Jun 13 2008, 07:30 PM) 521225
I'm not voting for anyone because they're annoying, but rather because Casilu's teasing makes her suspicious and Shiri's coloured posting makes him suspicious.

Her teasing doesn't make her suspicious, it makes her annoying. Coming right out and saying what her role is earns us nothing. Shiri's coloured posting likewise makes him annoying, not suspicious. His posting colour is also a pretty obvious pattern, and he even said how he's doing it: "Revan's yellow"

QUOTE(rika @ Jun 13 2008, 07:16 PM) 521218
The bright blue was obnoxious! And it is a very good reason to vote for you. It means you may have some sort of spy role.

QUOTE(rika @ Jun 13 2008, 07:04 PM) 521209
Unvote: Casilu
Vote Shiri

Because your colours are even more obnoxious than Casilu's teasing. Also, the fact that we may not get any more roles from dead people already makes this game out of the ordinary, so it may very likely be that the scum got a double-vote skill.

Note the slimmest of reasoning to vote for Shiri. The complete lack of evidence. The voting based on obnoxiousness.

But wait.. what's this..

QUOTE(rika @ Jun 13 2008, 06:54 PM) 521202
Unvote: Duke of Ess
Vote: Casilu

I still find Silvanus and Casilu a bit suspicious. Flipped a coin, and the result was Casilu.

10 minutes earlier she flipped a coin and voted for Casilu? And suddenly Shiri is suspicious? This is almost neurotic, except it comes after Shiri calls you out and votes for you AND after you already unvoted him a few days ago:
QUOTE(rika @ Jun 8 2008, 01:00 AM) 519091
Unvote: Shiri

Psh, you know I was joking. Besides, I wouldn't want to lynch you so quickly. Assuming you were evil, you'd be a great challenge, and I like challenges. If you're innocent, then why kill you at all?

Scummy indeed. All of this comes after a history of completely baseless votes with almost no explanation or analysis.

QUOTE(rika @ Jun 12 2008, 12:30 AM) 520798
Vote: Diamondais

Because I really don't want to end up lynching a rebel and have very little to go on, but she voted for me.

QUOTE(rika @ Jun 12 2008, 09:24 PM) 520967
Unvote: Diamondais
Vote: Duke of Ess

Opinions please!

With all of that in mind:
Vote: Rika

Her posts scream scum to me.
Rika2008-06-14 03:28:53
A game where people post very little is boring, and during the weekdays, I've got limited time to play. And since I can't tease Shiri much on Lusty, I've decided I'll tease him a bit here. No, I'm not going to be posting anything serious when voting for Shiri (except for the bright colour hatred bits).

However, now that you've jumped onto another bandwagon, Visaeris, my vote is going to stay.
Exeryte2008-06-14 03:30:06
Visaeris - you realize you just hopped onto a bandwagon for the fourth time?

Your vote staying on me would be a record as far as your history in this mafia game. I'm left wondering how long it'll last.

But I do find it amusing that i'm "jumping onto another bandwagon" with a long detailed post of analysis.

Tell me, how do I avoid the "OMGZ UR TEH BANDWAGONING" accusation? Am I supposed to avoid voting for people who are hugely suspicious and just pick someone random? Would it be better if I voted for someone like Revan or Shayle just to avoid cries of bandwagon? Please

That said, I'd like some feedback on my post by post of Rika. I think it's pretty damning.
Furien2008-06-14 03:32:14
This is what bandwagoning is like, kids.

Unvote: Revan
Vote: Visaeris

That is, of course, if the above was in bold. Oh. Wait...

See? This is good bandwagoning. A vote with no particular reasoning or explanation, just a vote. Every time I've voted I've done for good reason, and it's pretty tiresome to get the endless accusations of "bandwagon".

I'm honestly left wondering if I should vote at all, if having the nerve to vote for people is such a malus.
Shiri2008-06-14 03:33:56
I suggest we hold off on Visaeris for now. Even if he -is- bandwagoning, what he's pointed out about Rika is accurate. Now it would be really annoying if he were scum and Rika was just a townie playing badly, and that's certainly possible, but skimming the evidence I think Rika is suspicious. It's unlikely that they're on the same side, at least.

Well, I can tell you two things:

1. This vote is probably going to last the entire day unless something big happens.
2. This vote is my second serious vote of the game, the first being half serious on Duke to get him/her talking. I don't vote seriously based on coin flips.
Furien2008-06-14 03:35:46
You're playing with someone's life, then, if you're voting not-seriously based on coin flips. And putting yourself in danger in the process. I could narrow that down to bad gaming, maybe.

I wasn't aware we got to break votes into "serious" votes and "non serious" votes. I stand by my analysis of your posts. You don't get to play hard and fast and expect nobody to notice. Accuse me of "bandwagon"ing all you want, but I've had 4 votes to my name and all of them have been "serious" votes for "serious" reasons (laid out at length and I stand by every vote I've made, and will happily explain why).

This is a problem that a lot of games fall into: throwing around a lot of baseless accusations of "bandwagoner" and "suspicious" without any hard analysis or extensive explanation.
Furien2008-06-14 03:36:50
Addendum to the above! Unless you had some sort of protection, you probably wouldn't be painting a gigantic bullseye on your forehead. Unless you're scum and not playing very well, either. My, this looks fun. suspicious.gif

How is that any different from rolling dice on the first few days? I never intended to keep my vote on Casilu long and as I've said a few times already, I like teasing Shiri.

You can't really vote not-seriously here. It sure looks serious to the rest of us, and it has serious effects.
Furien2008-06-14 03:39:37
The fate of this nation, as crappy as I inherently think it is and in spite of my strange desire to be one of many three-headed water-loving Canadian deals, is usually too serious for true teases. We've got two people dead now, as well, so dice rolls aren't quite as light hearted as they used to be.

Because there is a huge difference between a rolled dice day one and voting after 300+ posts by every single player. "teasing" shiri with votes is way inappropriate, and it's a flimsy excuse.

if you teased him day 1 in the first 30 posts, ok. But we're almost a week in, with a lot of posts, and plenty to go on. "teasing" and "joke votes" don't fly anymore.
Shayle2008-06-14 04:08:30
Visaeris' analysis of Rika's posts absolutely make me raise an eyebrow. Rika's responses don't do much to change that. Based on what I think seems like at least -reasonable- evidence, I'm going to change my vote.

Unvote: Casilu
Vote: Rika

That being said...

I don't know why everyone is so convinced that Casilu, or anyone else for that matter, is town. I'm not convinced -anyone- is town. Of all the games I've been in thus far, this is the most confusing one yet, in no small part because of the sinking feeling I have that we're not going to know who is who upon deaths. (Although really, how can we keep playing like that if it's true? It seems it would make every day entirely too random, and entirely too much like this one, with random votes all over and a pittance of evidence.)

Shiri's colors still intrigue me, and his aggressive style of play would be suspicious if I didn't believe he just has a lot more time on his hands than I do. tongue.gif
