PS. As for the theme of this game, three words: you would, Xavius.

shamarah, for saying we should lynch someone for speedlynch what do you call what you are doing now? Also it seems you are trying to start a bangwagon. We start with a day, this is good. We should make this day last as long as we can. We need to get as much as we can from it instead of random votes, even though that is probably a bit hard to do at the start but still should try.

He's not doing random votes, he's doing decided votes based on how hard Arix wrecked town last game with his terrible play. Arix's speedlynches were totally different. And he is trying to start a bandwagon because you need 10 votes to lynch someone, which you can't do without a bandwagon for obvious reasons. Unless something productive comes up in the discussion (I still think Rika is being weird) voting someone for productive reasons like "he is barely even playing" or "he's a liability whatever we do" is about the best we can hope for. By starting on a day we don't even have the tiny bit of info a night start gives, either.

Given that the game just barely started (during the American sleep-time, no less), isn't it a little early to be talking about "he/she is barely even playing"? (I realize you're not the only one saying that, but it does seem a bit strange and just a bit of a stretch to be bringing it up at this point)
Ayisdra2008-06-08 14:26:50
Those reasons might be true, but this is a new game, new roles. Although you can use the last game as info I don't think it that justifiable as that could have been the way he played that role. He doesn't have the same role (more and likely atleast) this time.

Right, it was an example (and helpful when applied to people who didn't play last game, to hopefully get them into action and avoid a lynching. I'm not saying the people who haven't posted yet count as inactive. Anyway, Shamarah's produced an equally convincing lynch option, so.
Also I'm getting deja vu, I think I had to make this exact same post earlier in the thread and you just skipped it.

It wasn't the play he played that role. He was a mason. There is nothing in the role of a mason or indeed a vanilla townie that states they have to randomly vote people, have weird hissy fits near the start, or vote yourself at the end because "he can see where this is going." Nor does that have anything to do with his "hobo" status.
About the only thing you can defend is the voting Shaddus because of the emote cannibalism (he thought it was an RP game or something.)

It's possible, I keep having to highlight your posts just to be able to read them (I *really* hate it when you colour things in white / other light tones. Grr.)
Unknown2008-06-08 15:00:14
Hmm, the color thing is odd but no reason to lynch. You have an obvious rhyme to it, you obviously have rules that you have to follow for it. No idea if that makes you scum or not.
Meh, going to random Vote:Revan for now until I get a better feel for what is going on.

Ooh. Colours. Wonderful optics technology to make things pretty.
But please, for the love of god, don't use white!
Well these things generally start when I'm sleeping or at work, I do have to work in a few hours and have company coming over so I wont be back probably until later tonight.
So no ninja-lynchs again!

I actually need sleep, unlike some people.
Shiri's role obviously has something to do with using rainbow fonts in his posts and spreading vicious rumors about sleeping players unable to defend themselves. Whether that's a good or bad thing, I don't know.
Revan2008-06-08 15:46:50
Wow, I'm not sure if I want to vote for Furien for being absolutely sketchy with his voting or Shiri for making my frikkin eyes bleed. I'll hold my vote for now... but they're both acting extremely suspicious.

I propose we lynch Arix today. Last game he proved a serious liability to the town, trying to speedlynch and doing random votes in the endgame. I don't know if he's scum or not, but he isn't helpful either way, so I will Vote: Arix.
I agree with this.

Also, there are 18 people and we need 10 to lynch, right?

So much to read after less than 24 hours!
Shiri's colored posts are amusing, and I'm enjoying trying to figure out if there's some pattern. My first thought is that he's communicating with someone...somehow...and I sort of feel bad that he's got such a glaringly obvious difference from everyone else so early in the game, but perhaps it will work in his favor.
I understand Shamarah's eagerness to vote out Arix based on his gameplay, but I know that Shammy is clever enough to sway suspicion any which way he pleases.
Other random thoughts: Arix is such a loose canon that I'm not entirely sure what to think. Getting on Exertye for not posting in a thread that's been open for less than a day is just silly. And I can't help but think about how Xavius' mind works. The theme isn't a surprise. I suspect a lot of the roles won't be a surprise either.
Anyway, I got nothing right now. My gut points to no one yet. I'm going to give the other people who were sleeping when this thread opened a chance to weigh in too!
