Just had a thought while standing guard between raids. It'd be nice if other orgs than Mag had access to ways to grief others on a wide scale. Currently Magnagora has the Tainted Broadcasting Center, which once activated causes all bards/scholars to ignore citizens of any org other than Magnagora, and the Soulforge, which if I recall correctly siphons power from the other three nexii into the Megalith when active.
I just thought it might be nice if other organizations had access to similar tools. For instance, set up a beacon or a lighthouse kinda thing at or near Mount Avechna that causes the Pilgrims to ignore all but citizens from the organization that activates it. Or perhaps a quest that causes the gnomes in aetherspace to temporarily embargo a given organization or something.

I know that people do the Broadcasting center but does anyone really do the Soulforge? I think I have seen it done once.

The broadcast center works for any organization that completes it.
Magnagora's just the one that does it most (for obvious reasons).
Shiri2008-06-10 01:31:05
Ironically the soulforge only siphons from Celest (and Magnagora if non-Magnagorans do it) but only Magnagorans do it because it also sprays non-Magnagoran-wrecking plague and midbie-slaying parasites all over the road.
But yeah, some undeath-purging thing or whatever would be nice.

Isn't that how the broadcast center works, it's just the actual story within the area stops anyone from doing the quest without getting kicked 'cept magnagora? (Celest duh, Seren grutina, Glom... denial?)

SW should get a quest to spread our wildflowers everywhere. Muahaha.

I'm FAIRLY certain Celestian citizens are forbidden outright from completing it. If not in hard coding, then in the same way bashing the Aslaran encampment is forbidden, for sure.
Shiri2008-06-10 01:37:12
It's a lot more than "bashing the aslaran encampment." Celest could easily change their minds on that one, not so easily with Muud.

Soulforge drains from any one nexus into its opposing nexus. It works for Serenwilde to drain Glomdoring nad vice versa. Or it may be Serenwilde/Glom to drain the cities. Not sure, never tested and can't be 110%

If that is true then it is fairly sad. Celest could have some cool RP with it. Helping out a tainted being for the good of Celest. I mean, in the end Celest will just kill him anyways. I use similar thinking for Mag, the center is not a pro mag place it is just a tainted place. I only do it with the idea that in the end Magnagora will control it and for now I'm helping this other place for Magnagora.

Are you kidding? A page asked over the City aethers where to sell Aslaran to once. I swear I could see, from sitting in Maylea's Fulcrux, his superior officer turning purple at the Pool of Stars getting ready to chew him out.

Ok, misread, but my point stands for Muud, and the broadcast centre isn't really an option for the untainted orgs either.
@Aerotan: No I'm not kidding. It would not be a huge stretch for Celestians to change their mind one day and decide they could kill aslaran. It would be a huge stretch for Celestians to change their mind one day and decide they can leak soulless power all over the place.

I'd like a few Serenwilde/Glomdoring orientated places too.
Don't get me wrong - I love doing evil quests. But it'd be nice to be able to make a big change in the game in favor of Glomdoring.

On that same note where is the city quests that can be used to hurt a forest? Thats why people do the gorgogs, it kills novices, bashables arent hard to find so dont try that one . We cannot do anything similar to forests even though they can do anti city conflict quests. Only ones we can do against a forest effect everyone, non specifically.

...so they hurt the forests and then some. Np! And no one does gorgogs to kill novices. They do it for MORE bashing things. Particularly since the cave ones team now. Ask anyone who's done it.
Arix2008-06-10 04:19:46
I propose a Griefer Exchange Program. Each opposing org (Celest/Magnagora, Serenwilde/Glomdoring) will select their griefiest player and send them to join the other. For the duration of the exchange, enemy status will be revoked, though the griefers will only be allowed to join opposing guilds to minimize lesson loss. I don't think it'll solve anything, but I wanted to bring it up

Mag has anti-forest quests, they're just banned. Got 10+ citydisfavours for doing them.

I thought Mag had one Anti-Forest quest whichwas directed at Serenwilde and Serenwilde could summon a Spirit that stole power from them until said creatures were returned?
Shiri2008-06-12 14:33:30
That was the Grutina quest (i.e not possible anymore for obvious reasons), and I don't think that was ever exactly pro-Magnagora. I think the part where they kidnapped centaurs was an event thing, not an ongoing quest.
