Heh.. there's something you can do IC to be told all the Mag Banner and Lesser houses and who they align to, with a touch of history

Family honour shouldn't go down if someone is killed in wildnodes or village influencing.

Yea, the whole "killing people gets your honour lowered" doesn't make sense. It seems like another "protect people from PK" mechanic. It should be the opposite, really. Let honour RISE from killing people. Sheesh, this IS a PK-centered game, after all. Stop discouraging it
Unknown2008-06-14 17:04:43
Perhaps allow the family head to pick a certain 'style' of family. One style would get honour from killing people, but lose honour naturally at a quicker rate; another could get increased honour from influencing or lose honour naturally at a slower rate, but would lose honour for killing people.
Ashai2008-06-14 17:17:52
Well, in regards to the above posted log, it doesn't seem to state when the House gradually gains honour from things like holding position, because despite all of the killing, the honour has steadily been increasing, but slowly.
Xavius2008-06-14 17:32:17
PK-related honour should only tick on Prime outside of enemy territory, either positive or negative.

I have to Agree, I haven't seen 70% of the Dekovens, most of the time their are about 8 or 7 or us about
Ryleth2008-06-14 17:38:05
If you kill an enemy then does family honour rise? Because that definatly would encourage random enemy declaration and just be a right pain.
Silvanus2008-06-14 19:04:53
I'd also like to point most of those people that Kaervas killed are enemies to Magnagora, which the family is aligned, but not enemied to Glomdoring. Change please.

Just out of curiosity, is the honour loss from PK smart enough to take into account who declared/defended. Or is it just "you killed X so you lose honour even though they ganked you and it was self defence"?

Those are off prime and during village revolts. Not prime declare and jump people kills.
Gregori2008-06-14 20:20:20
I wasn't concerned about where or when they happened, but more of if the system is smart enough to know who is the attacker and who is the defender no matter who got killed.
Even off prime there is an implied declaration. On prime it is just explicit declaration.

Well, seeing that the people I killed were people that were attacking me before they died I doubt it's scripted that well.

If that is the case, this needs to be fixed. Families shouldn't lose honour because some non enemy attacked them and died.

Clearly we need a FAMILY ENEMIES (and related syntaxes) command.

Oooooh, smart. Go ahead and make a way for enemies of given orgs- such as Glomdoring, Magnagora, Sojiro's Fluffy Bunny Clan, etc- to have their enemies become a family's enemies.

Shiri2008-06-15 04:36:31
Is there even any point in the whole thing? Once you open it up to "family enemies" you basically say "yeah, go ahead and kill whoever, you won't lose honour for it." All it seems to punish then is forgetting to mass family enemy the other side during a pitched battle (or not having time to.)
Morgfyre2008-06-15 06:45:47
I won't make family enemies for the reasons Shiri stated. I will make it a bit more intelligent with regards to attacking vs. being attacked.
To answer Silvanus, it does check whether the victim is the person's city/guild/order enemy (not the city/guilds/orders with which the family is aligned), and that is intended. This is because families often have members in more than one city or commune, and it's not the goal to force everyone into the single city or commune with which the family is aligned. Family politics are a bit less binary.
