Haha Hazar you are a trip. I wont even bother making a post in my defense.

Yeah, I agree with Veyda now.

He's all over the place. Do I really have to make a detailed attack post pointing out how scatter-brained shotgunning? I can understand his enthusiasm but come on. Its a bit much. I'm keeping my vote on Daganev for now because I believe he is lying about his role.
Unknown2008-06-24 00:52:54
Do I really need to make a detailed attack post pointing how he is being a scatter-brained shotgunner* :X
Anyways, yeah.
(Shotgunner is basically someone who accuses everyone of everything in hopes of scoring a landing hit somewhere and discerning a grain of truth. Its a viable tactic, I've done it myself. Paints a big X on your head though.)

..If you had nothing to hide, there'd be no issue with making even the slightest defensive gesture. And what about scatter-brained shotgunning? I don't think it's so much Veyda's all over the place, he's just looking at where you're trying to influence everyone towards.
On second thought, though, there isn't much point in possible scum revealing themselves and pressuring to lynch someone on just the first day. We'll roll with this for now, I guess.
Furien2008-06-24 00:54:56
Ninja'd, ignore shotgun part of my post.
Hazar2008-06-24 01:04:45
I'm not shotgunning. I've accused all of two people - one to make them talk, which became more serious when he was all over the board. That nearly turned into a lynch because people thought I was making sense, not because I was randomly picking people.
Of course, when he defended himself properly and things went off-course, you wanted him to die. That's why I'm voting for you. I'm not moving my vote. It's perfectly defensible.

Pretend edit: Furthermore, you've never really addressed my concerns, just laughed at them and tried to straw-man people out of listening to me.
Revan2008-06-24 01:15:15
Sadly, this is exactly my point. Daganev managed to write absolute BS posts to get people off his back. I highly doubt he's telling the truth about his roleclaim. Also, for those of you who are saying that I'm a bad liar... please point to one incident that lead to this belief? Both games I've been town, and I didn't even lie about my role, so tacking on a statement about the truth of my roleclaims is a bit "wtf". Daganev, on the otherhand, is a notorious liar. He managed to keep everyone off his back with circitrous logic and finger pointing so he could win Bali's game, and frankly, if you guys fall for it again, I'd be sad. my vote's staying with Daganev
Arix2008-06-24 01:25:36
I'm keeping my vote where it is.
Okin2008-06-24 02:42:47
I'm really torn! I'm very suspicious of Daganev, but then, I'm ALWAYS suspicious of Daganev (I'm sorry, Daganev! I don't know why! Apparently you're just a very suspicious person.)
I tend to think Hazar is making more sense then Bali at this point, but they could both be zealous town. Silvanus's refusal to understand the really quite simple and convincing arguments that no lynch is a Very Bad Thing irk me.
But, I only have one vote, so... Vote: Bali.

I could I have took the easy route and unvoted with the horde but I stuck to my guns and kept my vote on him. If I was mafia/scum/cult/sk/whatever, would I do that? I'm dedicated to what I think is right. I can tell when Daganev and people in general are being deceitful. Last game my accusations were top-notch and I picked out quite a few scum and cultists. I'm trying not to get into a confrontation with you right now but you leave me little recourse.

Xavius seems to have entirely too much of an agenda about the angels.

Ok so here is a case of accusing Xavius of having an 'agenda' about the angels. How did he come to this conclusion? A clean case of grasping at straws and paranoia, imo.Vote: Xavius and Envoy Vote: Yea unless he actually explains himself rather than pushing the issue.

My vote's staying on Daganev as I go off to bed because I really, really don't like 'cleanse the town of useless players' logic. It stinks. STINKS OF SCUM.
A tad overdramatic, but I agree. That strategy is generally a bad one. Unless Arix is involved.

Putting words in my mouth is scummy.
But more to the point, that's an imperfect analysis. Lurking and not talking is scummy - but scum can talk, too, like in the last game where Visaeris talked a lot and was a mafia goon. Townies try to get you to talk, first, and then look at you funny if you don't talk right.
My vote's still on you. You're running around and making things too complex. Obfuscation bad.

When the shaggin' baggin' lynchin' train is in full swing, Bali's happy to try to calm us down and look townish, but when it starts losing momentum and turning around, he wants to get behind and push.
Me no likey.
Going through some of the posts I found out I confused you with Xavius, O_o (your personalities are more similar than I bet either of you would admit)
My vote for Thul was basically a starter vote to get people going. When Visaeris mentioned that I hadn't voted for Daganev even though I critized him, I changed my vote because he made a good point and I thought I should change my vote.
I'm not even sure I understand your reasoning for pointing the finger at me. I wasn't trying to calm people down to avoid a daganev lynch (by your own admission, that was townish of me), I was just saying you guys were going a little overboard with what little information we already have on day one. Saying I said that just to "try" to look towny is a bit of a stretch.
And what pushing? I made a few *small* posts because I didnt have the time nor willpower to write dedicated posts. I honestly feel and think Daganev is scum (or something bad) and has given us a deceitful roleclaim to try and throw us off. I'm sticking to that and it'll take some more convincing on Daganev's part to get me to alter my vote.

This is all very bizarre and I don't have the mental faculties to sort through everything at this point. I didn't ge tmuch sleep last night and I just got home from a 10 hour school day. I also have to be up at 3am tomorrow to go do my physical for the Army, and I won't be back until tomorrow afternoon.
Unvote.
Don't expect any further posts from me until tomorrow afternoon/evening.

Everyone who has been talking lately seems genuine to me, even Revan.
I'm curious about experienced players who have been almost silent though, such as Xenthos, and Kaervas.

Curious about what? I've been both reading and posting when there seems to be something worth mentioning. Unless it's the fact that I haven't voted which makes you curious... but I did already address that.

Are we to understand then that you have no real opinion about Balizar, Revan, Silvanus or myself?
@everyone else: Is Xenthos normally this quite when he plays? I can't remember.

I'm just gonna jot this stuff down and get to bed. Started over three times already as some thought came up, and I'm getting nowhere.
I don't think Balizar is acting suspiciously. Unpleasantly, sure, but that seems to be a consistent factor when he's playing town. He's made a couple of bad decisions here and there, mind... but I'm putting that down to emotion flares and misplaced humor rather than malice.
Daganev, are those your exact role titles?
I'm tired of hearing about Silvanus and the no-lynch thing. Really. Has someone got a link to some page where someone's written out the math or taken statistics or something so that the argument can just go away, please? I can understand the viewpoints, and I don't think someone is scum for subscribing to one or the other, I just think we can be discussing more important things.

C'mon, you've played with me before. Though I guess it was a while ago.
I don't really have any reason to vote for either you or Balizar as of yet. Your claim seems... plausible, and Balizar's looking pretty solid (I'd think a scum would be much more likely to back off a vote once the momentum shifts than stick with it, so as to "blend in" better). I'm wary of voting for Revan given that the last game I was 100% convinced he was scum (and that turned out pretty badly), and Silvanus did specifically mention the last game his "no lynch" style-- so, while stupid, it doesn't look like a tell this game either.
PS: It's "Quiet," not "quite"!
