Roleblocking does not equal investigating (short answer). Alright Karn I'll really take what you say to heart before I think about unvoting Ryleth. I want to hear from both of them. And I'm glad that someone agrees with me on the idea of Lusternian skills and classes = town. Ayisdra is constantly looking at this thread but rarely posts when he is mentioned (I just leave my browser open and refresh every so often because I'm at the computer doing other stuff) - I find that sort of suspicious.
Wait Karnagan, you dork, did you just claim doctor?

You find it suspicious that I don't look at the other threads in this forum and just leave this one open? is it really that odd?
Karnagan2008-06-27 01:47:37
It's not really a problem anymore, Bali. I already got disrupted once, and it's entirely plausible that the scum employed an investigator to find out what I did already- using the disruption to make sure their target had no chance of surviving. Ordinarily, I wouldn't. But I'm going to be the reason the MVP townie of this session isn't going to die- at least if it isn't me. So, yunno, fair warning to the scum out there. I can drop my role if I have to, but I'd rather not.

I'd also like to add that you were most likely hit by Xavius's skill. Occam's Razor. Just because he is dead does not mean his night actions never happened. Night actions are usually queued in the mafia's favor, but it really depends on mod.
Karnagan2008-06-27 01:49:33
Probably, Bali, but I'm taking no chances. There might be a second mafia roleblocker out there, and we have to consider that possibility in how things go down next.

The first thing to keep in mind is, all the Mafia can talk amongst themselves. They know their abilities, and they know when the envoy reports will particularly disadvantage them.
Last part- not quite. Note the discrepancy we had with the Vengeance ability? We still don't know (okay, some probably have it right through brains or powers) who it effects. The only people that actually know what it does are the ones possessing the actual skillset. Unless there's an Evil Envoy (I'm pretty sure there's various versions of 'a XENTHOS' out there) the Mafia isn't guaranteed to know.

The "Not Much Has Changed" Vote Count
Ryleth - 5 (Balizar, Furien, Rika, Revan, Arix)
Karnagan - 2 (Casilu, Ayisdra)
Revan - 1 (Ryleth)
Visaeris - 1 (Karnagan)
Druken - 1 (Visaeris)
9 to lynch.

Fair enough, but I'm certain they don't have angels. I believe this firmly due to Xavius' vote, and think that there's a lot of scum who voted appropriately.

On that part, agreed. Also suspicious, now, of Vis talking about the Celestine SK who likely never was an SK and is actually a Vigilante, which we need.

Well... Xavius was Aetolian, no? A quick Google-search shows that Seraphs are Imperian, so... I guess it's still plausible (assuming we do have an Aetolian and an Imperian mafia, as well as our dead Achaean serial-killer) that some of the people who voted for it are members of a different mafia group who might benefit. Any scum with Xavius would have voted appropriately, but that doesn't give any information at all concerning the others (who may have been either for or against). Simply voting in favour of the Angel Emancipation may not be all that positive a sign, either.
Karnagan2008-06-27 02:10:05
The town couldn't be aware of what the angel emancipation would do. Remember- we can't remove our masks, publically or privately. The Aetolians- and Imperians/Achaeans if they exist as anything but serial killers- can make themselves known to each other. Therefore, their orgs can determine whether a given power would hurt them in the long run, compared to what would happen now that they know there's a Vigilante running around.

Right, but there's no sign (from the Achaean / Aetolian interaction) that the groups from different games have anything to do with each other. Though perhaps there is some knowledge that the other groups exist (Xavius did immediately jump onto the Seraph argument), it looks like they're opposing each other as well as us. That would mean that a vote benefiting the Aetolians might hurt the Imperians, if they exist as an actual group.
Given the number of people playing, I'm pretty sure that there *is* at least one more scum group, and Imperian makes the most sense with what we know at the moment.

I have to say.. karnagan's well-made and astoundingly insightful arguments have won me over.

Didn't say they needed to, Xenthos. For that matter, I'm not sure either the townies or the Aetolians can even be sure there ARE Imperian players. None of them have died or been unmasked yet by our people. There might be a serial killer left, or some such. However- I think that we need to consider that the Aetolians will do what benefits THEM the most- ie: no angels. Which is why I'm suspicious that Visaeris might be an Aetolia supporter.

That "however" is pretty much what I was saying-- just expanded to say that if there is another group, this reasoning won't really apply to them at all. At this point, though, I guess I will vote: Visaeris for the reasoning provided.
Rika2008-06-27 03:05:46
Vote: Visaeris. Good points made, and I voted for him last round and he did turn out to be scum.

I was, I swear, coming here after rehersal to make a post setting up why Visaeris was a bad guy.
Karnagan...damn you.
But he pretty much covered what I was going to say, so I'll just Vote: Visaeris.

Double post, special. Don't count my vote twice.

After reading Karnagan's post, and with the point raised about Ryleth, I'm going to VOTE: VISAERIS
(I was going to vote for him a few pages back, but then I realised his post about wanting to lynch me for old times sake was probably a joke)

I count six. We should stop at seven for a roleclaim before we go on further.
