After thinking about and hearing the arguments against helping the angels... Evoy Vote: Nay

Keep in mind folks, you don't just envoy vote, you also should be voting on a lynch target.
Rauros2008-06-22 23:05:15
confused.gif When I find out who killed me, it's INQUISITION FRENZY on you.

And I was really lookin forward to playin a Xenthos. losewings.gif

Atm there's no evidence one way or the other to say that it will or won't benefit scum, by that logic people might as well just reject every envoy vote in case it potentially helps the wrong side. Angels are present in both Lusternia and Aetolia after all.

Envoy vote: Yea
Hazar2008-06-22 23:26:48
Yes. Denying every envoy vote because it might give power to scum is pretty unreasonable. It means we're denying ourselves any powers we might get.

Thus I'm still very suspicious of Xavius, and my vote is still on him.
Xavius2008-06-22 23:39:31
A double vote in the hands of the informed minority is worth more than a double vote in the hands of the ignorant majority. This is a really easy choice.
Furien2008-06-23 00:29:18
I have to go with Kaervas on this: angels are present in both Lusternia and Aetolia and are, typically, given to the good side. I'm entirely certain that Xavius's translation of the word is correct- angels will be given the power to vote, and the owner of whoever has the angel can change that vote whenever they want.

Problem is- are THESE angels on the good side? I'm leaning that they are, so

Envoy vote: Yea
Unknown2008-06-23 00:38:52
I don't like the idea of doublevotes period, and if that makes me scum so be it. The "yea"s are making a terrible mistake.
Furien2008-06-23 00:44:18
After thinking about what Visaeris just said, yeah, it probably isn't worth the risk. Aetolia does have spirituality, and even if we do have good-sider angels, we're likely to have bad ones too.

Envoy unvote (?)

Envoy Vote: Nay
Unknown2008-06-23 00:46:18
Enfranchising doesn't have to mean giving someone a double vote. Enfrachising angels could mean alot of things.

Thats a pretty big assumption.

Also, angels are the good guys, as someone else pointed out.

That was me, and note that I turned my vote around on reconsidering. tongue.gif

That's an envoy majority!

Envoy Votes
Yea - 5 (Balizar, Casilu, Ryleth, Hazar, Kaervas)
Nay - 10 (Druken, Xavius, Othero, Ayisdra, Thul, Visaeris, Silvanus, Revan, Casilu, Alianna)

The envoy motion "Enfranchise angels" has been rejected.

Now, back to your normally scheduled lynch voting!

Celest proves this statement wrong.

I went there
Xavius2008-06-23 01:05:20
Right. So. I'm not actually convinced that Ryleth is scum based on that envoy vote. Ideas?
Furien2008-06-23 01:10:41
QUOTE(Ryleth @ Jun 22 2008, 01:08 PM) 524545
The focus of Aetolia seems to be on the dark/vampires and all that but they do have spirtuality - don't they call them 'archons' or something there though? Or seraphs? The envoy specifically says 'Angels' which is what they are called specifically in Lusternia, ((well usually-archangels))

So I'm going to Envoy Vote: Yea

That's his post. Aetolia also uses them as 'guardian angels' like Achaea, Imperian are the ones with Seraphs.

Unless you're referring to another post, I'm not convinced the guy is scum.
Shamarah2008-06-23 01:13:31
Just for future reference (and this doesn't necessarily apply to the current topic) but don't try to base arguments entirely on my day/night scenes. It's just a Bad Idea in general, as I'm just trying to be entertaining with it more than anything else.
Silvanus2008-06-23 01:22:44
What exactly was the envoy voted down, did anybody know?

I hate lynching on first day anyways, so I'm just going to have to:

Vote: NoLynch
Hazar2008-06-23 02:09:38
I don't really appreciate Xavius' logic, and so I'm leaving my vote on him until there's something better to do.

Which is not no-lynch. Does this need to be explained again?
Xavius2008-06-23 02:54:42
Unvote: Ayisdra
Vote: Hazar

Mostly just because. It's day one. Whatever. Also remarkably dense in not seeing why giving double votes to people who know in advance the ones who can be safely voted for is a bad idea when he isn't actually dense at all.
