Do all three GL's at least remember the Flame syntax?

Also, Hart is way cooler than Moon. Moon is too overdone. sleep.gif And if you don't think HS has a rich roleplay and items just around the GH alone, not including the guild itself, Hart, Charune or Serenwilde as a whole. I do advise you go relearn what the Hartstone is about, what they symbolize and their history.

the flame is in the ewh clan thankfully.

As for relearning, I never really stated it was the only part of their rp. however the listening to the spirits and calling them for aide is still part of that. Part of the history you are asking me to remember is also what we should effectively be forgetting.
Hazar2008-06-24 02:56:35
Cry more. You're being needlessly pedantic.

Oh, oops. That was directed at Alianna!

I couldn't remember most of the Hartstone history! And I remember the Drums perfectly fine, the beaton stuff, same with the ancestors/dark spirits/KILL GLOMDORING AND CO. I just don't remember self-sacrifice because you do it so often as a Druid that it seems normal, not guild RP. content.gif

I thought that one storm-esque event gave the Flame other syntax, though? For rituals and stuff. I was HS at the time, no idea what happened to it. I'm not totally clueless! sad.gif

Maybe you should go talk to your IG mother eh? She might be able to tell you a thing or two. rolleyes.gif

However, this is a serious derailment of poor Lendren's Haunting thread. The skills do look awesome. content.gif

Well kinda...

The flame allows undetectable room illusions (effectively what admin do but only in the one room) Only the leadership can control it.

the event to awaken that power revolved around it weakening and this is bad because it's where the ancestors are. However the flame itself has been a part of the hartstone since... before ecology maybe? it came with the hall.

QUOTE
Asmodea clenches her fists and grits her teeth.
4914h, 4512m, 4737e, 5p, 22602en, 23381w xkb-

Ancestral spirits roar towards you from Asmodea, keening in rage and fury.
3110h, 4512m, 4737e, 5p, 22622en, 23381w xkb-

Asmodea's aura of weapons rebounding disappears.
"Converge to set my spirit free!" sings Asmodea, playing the Argentine Lyre of Trialante with haunting harmonies, and she looks directly at you.
The sorrowful solace of winter freezes your cold heart, stopping it forever.
You have been slain by Asmodea.
Now thats what i call an "Instakill".. almost full health to death. We havent even warmed up on the spar sad.gif

You suddenly perceive the vague outline of an aura of rebounding around Asmodea.

1500 spirit damage? and this is passive..

A ghostly spirit swirling around Asmodea leaps in the path of the blow, absorbing the attack.

This is not a mini-illusoryself.. its way better. Illusoryself just blocks physcial damage. It does not block fire or electricity, etc.. this one, this is a passive pentagram. The Harbinger's passive pentagram on wyrd seems a pale imitation in comparison..

That is a disturbing thought, because that implies that all demesne holders are inadvertent adherents of Stag. blackeye.gif

I don't think anyone becomes a melding class hoping for a long lifespan, anyway.

To be fair, it's still worse than passive pentagram on wyrd - this isn't passive pentagram, it's another dodge chance. Harbinger song crops up every 10 seconds - this crops up maybe every 10 attacks (I think.)

Which isn't to say that it isn't good, and that damage is really nasty, but still.

I know, if they put one more change in without fixing these I'm going to backhand Estarra.

They are not comparable. This is more similar to maybe-Timeslip every 10 seconds, whereas the other is Circle every 10 seconds. Different benefits/limitations, can't make a direct comparison.

They're not different enough that they can't be compared.

Prime goal is the protection and sanctity of the Serenwilde, Nature, and the restoration of Nature. The healing of the lands of all unnatural influences. The rehabilitation of, and if that fails the destruction of, said unnatural influences. Inclusive are cities.

I know this is off topic but I could not resist asking. What exactly defines a city? I know mechanically that celest and mag are cities, but from a pure RP point of view what exactly differs between a commune and a city? Is it building material? Population size? Waste disposal? Could celest (or mag I suppose, ignoring the whole taint thing) one day implement a "natural building materials and recycling campaign" and go green?

I guess the taint/wyrd being unnatural influences makes perfect sense to me, but I just flat out do not get the city deal. I can start a new thread if this gets complex, but hopefully the answer is simple.

My take (there will be other valid ones, and plenty of invalid ones): a city is a large area of urbanisation characterised by the replacement or displacement of a natural ecosystem with artificial constructions. How large is left up to common sense. It also has -strong- connotations, in modern usage, of the four cities associated with the old Celestine empire - depending on a given character's reason for opposing cities, theoretical cities outside the Basin or historical ones like the ones that built the first Edifices may or may not be acceptable.
Gregori2008-06-24 16:36:29
My concept is similar to Shiri's.

A city is built by displacing/replacing the natural environment as much as possible with an artificial environment that inhibits the "wild" from overrunning the area.

A commune is built in an attempt to live in harmony with the environment, trying to minimize the damage to the "wild" and displace as little of it as possible while keeping the artificialness; roads, sidewalks, over crowded buildings at bay.
Hazar2008-06-24 17:16:24
Beyond that, the practices of both elementalism and cosmic can be (fairly easily) construed as unnatural and damaging from a commune perspective: yanking on the cosmic weft recklessly and drawing nature out of balance by emphasizing a single element. And again furthermore, the cities do not acknowledge the providence of the nature spirits.

See now this is something I can get behind. I had never even considered this before and it makes a lot more sense to me. This is backed up with the melds stopping plant life from growing.

I might have to give a commune alt another try with this as its basis.

Thanks! And sorry for the OT but as I said, I could not resist.

I meant to write a book. I may finish some day. I'm horrible about lusternian writing, I need to start treating it like an essay. >.>
