I'm starting to get back into playing Selverad, and thinking of joining an order. Now, besides not quite being familiar with how the Divine generally interact with players (If I go to the fulcrux and start talking, will they only notice if they're logged on, or are these things logged?) I'm not entirely familiar with the current lineup, although it seems to be Charune and Maylea for Serenwilde, Morgfyre and Fain for Magnagora, Viravain and Nocht for Glomdoring, and Eventru and Isune for Celest, with several other neutral parties like Elostian.
Now, as a fairly simple Tae'dae Bonecrusher in the Serenguard, it seems like Charune is the one to go with, but he's been inactive for a while, as far as I know. What other options would make sense?
Selverad is building up esteem, and once I've decided who I'm going with, I'm offering a full bottle (or something, maybe make a club and imbue it instead) at the master shrine of the one I choose. And we'll see how that goes.

Go with Morgfyre. come2mag

You forgot Terentia in Celest.
Lisaera in Serenwilde.
I do not think Isune is back in Celest just yet.
Inactive Gods: Charune(S), Auseklis(S), Lyreth©, Raezon (M), and Shakiniel (G).
Lisaera and Maylea are your best chances of an Order for a Serenguard.

Yeah, damn that Shakiniel, all she does is hang around Celestia nowadays.
Simimi2008-06-23 22:58:27
I think he means Shikari for Glomdoring.
Silvanus2008-06-23 22:58:49
Is it Shikari then? I forgot, Viravain's brother.

Yes, Shikari.

I didn't know Lisaera was still active...
Hmm. I don't think Maylea is a good choice for a stern, taciturn old bear of a Serenguard. Maybe Lisaera, but I'll have to learn more about her. What about the Neutral Gods?
Everiine2008-06-24 01:28:27
Just a quick note Selv, there are no restrictions whatsoever in the Serenguard for what God you can follow. So long as you abide by the commune restrictions, choose a God that fits you best.

So quit the Serenguard and come2mag
we like our tae'dae all tainted, you know? It's way better

It would take some heavy persuasion, IG, to get Selverad to change from Serenguard to Ur'Guard. He's a stubborn old bear. And as much as I personally may like the whole military flavor of the Ur'Guard, I can't stomach the lesson loss involved in losing Stag.

Lisaera's not dormant, she's just on a temporary and announced-in-advance absence that should be ending... pretty soon, I think.

Damn them gods having lives. We pay them enough, they shouldn't go...

What, virtual cookies aren't good enough?
Hazar2008-06-24 17:24:59
Apparently not!
Selverad2008-06-24 17:31:39
Is it worth it to join the order of an inactive God, for the purposes of the Order itself and the chance that the God in question will return?
Diamondais2008-06-24 17:45:40
Be prepared to have to wait a long time for them to come back, whether an old god position is filled or a new is created usually depends on what the volunteer wants to do.
Everiine2008-06-24 19:04:21
That's a problem I see with Orders. They don't do anything (that I ever see) except interact with the God. I always thought Orders should teach and do things based on what their patron teaches, not just what the Patron physically tells them to do. That way, even inactive Gods' Orders wouldn't die, they would continue on teaching what the patron taught.

It depends on the Order - some are just vague RP commitments, and some actually do stuff.

Did you listen to anything Rika said during the Ayridion years?
