Did you listen to anything Rika said during the Ayridion years? sad.gif

Well uh.. um.. uhhh... probably not cry.gif sad.gif

Well, which orders actually do stuff? I don't think coming into the outer circle of an order is the best way to nudge towards an order being an active RP entity.

What, virtual cookies aren't good enough? cookie.gif

To my knowledge, Lisaera is paid staff. Unless things have changed, of course.

That was old-Lisaera, who moved on to another IRE game a bit after (and is still there afaik).

Yes, a different person graduating from Ephemeral to Divine is "a change".

I think this is a common trend. suspicious.gif

Ev has no particular love of the Divine and thinks Orders are silly, so he wouldn't pay attention anyway. tongue.gif

EDIT: Clarification: I like the Divine, from an OOC and administrator standpoint. You guys rock! Ev just doesn't like IC Divine-ness.

That's a problem I see with Orders. They don't do anything (that I ever see) except interact with the God. I always thought Orders should teach and do things based on what their patron teaches, not just what the Patron physically tells them to do. That way, even inactive Gods' Orders wouldn't die, they would continue on teaching what the patron taught.

The thing is that, more often than not, a God's teachings overlap with the teachings of an Org. Nocht's teachings are basically SD teachings, Viravain's are a weird hybrid of SD and BT. I'm sure the same is true for most other gods, Lisaera especially. But that's just assuming.

If this is the case, then why do Orders die when the God leaves? Theoretically, Charune's Order should be just as visible as when Charune was around, because his teachings were very much in line with the Serenwilde. Yet, to my knowledge, if the Order is active, they aren't nearly as visible.

It depends on how much they're actively doing, Charune used to do tons with Serenwilde and keep up with most things more so than his order did.

No, it's because (and I think you said this), Orders are all about interactions with the God. I wasn't trying to point out how the teachings of a God are very significant (because they're not and often overlap), but it's more these teachings incarnated in Godly interactions which makes an order interesting.

For example, yes, Nocht embodies most of Mother Night's teachings. That's not exciting. What is exciting is when Nocht's minions whisk you away to Mother Night's birthplace. That's the interaction.

There are many functions within the order that are reliant on the god themselves (unless they're invesitble powers and I've never seen someone use them) these are things like progression which leaves you basically stuck with no progression which can be annoying especially when other orders have active patrons who allow you to use their shrine powers

I guess I know who to go with now.
