Apparently you can hold more honour for having more seated positions in the family, but they only apply for the allied city.

For example, seated positions in Glomdoring will not apply because d'Murani is linked to Magnagora.
Something like that.

We are aware of this. Nobody has yet gotten honour in their family for it. d'murani is allied to Magnagora and holds numerous elected seats there and they have yet to gain honour from it.

Mes'ard is allied with Serenwilde and has had someone in an elected seat the entire time and we have yet to gain honour from it.

In fact the only honour gain we have got was from aligning and 3 points from village influencing.

This is why as it goes every new family will instantly supplant every older established family for most honourable as long as they align and patron instantly.

This is also wrong. Families who are holding seats and offering to their patrons and influencing in villages, and only occasionally losing honour from PK, should not be lower in honour than a family that only -just- got Great House.

Are you sure it isn't just that the rate of decay is more than the amount of positions you hold?

If that was the case Mes'ard would be losing more per game month than d'murani. Which they aren't.

You lose 1 honour per game month. You gain no honour from elected seats, period.
Aramel2008-06-24 08:41:53
I think you can see honour in family logs. So if Gregori says it's not there, he probably means there wasn't so much as a message.

Edit: Anyway, this discussion might get a friendly admin to go look over the family system, so at least there's a bright side!
Xiel2008-06-24 08:42:08
Gaining honour would be recorded on the family logs. If it's not recorded there, then maybe the honour isn't being applied.

Makes sense.

Annnd I guess I'll start a new thread in general for this now.

We are fully aware of that, it's not true atm

The point I was trying to make is that excluding the Glomdoring seats, they do not have the most seats and should not be making the most honour for it.

Which is a point that has nothing to do with the topic. The topic being they are not making honour -period-.

I already know the honour system isn't working, no need to bite my head off for it.
Simply correcting something you said.
Aramel2008-06-24 08:54:35
Since we all seem to think that making honour is currently a bit of a steep task, maybe honour gained from elected positions should be fixed/boosted? And maybe the requirements for shrine honour lowered (currently I hear it's 1mil essence from one person, which is a bit steep).

We do understand that fact, however Saran and now Lehki who are both mes'ard have not generated a single point of honour.
Gregori2008-06-24 08:55:43
Anyways, a log should show:

passive decay for GH maintenance
passive gain for elected seats
any other gains/losses

and it should show the amount gained.

But first actually -gaining- the honour needs to be fixed so the family -does- gain it.

Not sure what you were correcting, as I didn't say they hold the most seats. I said they hold numerous elected seats in Magnagora.

Warlord Morvior d'Murani
Sthai d'Murani
Melville d'murani
Linaeve d'Murani
Shikha d'Murani

That's 5 elected seats right there.. I got tired of looking at their guilds so am stopping now. They haven't got any honour from their numerous seats either.

500k offered for 1 honour

in all fairness d'murani should have far more honour than anyone else given the seats they hold.

Talnara has 7.
and for the last time, I read the relevant posts before doing so myself, I already know the honour system isn't working. Include killing sprees and well..there you go.

Your statement does not take into account the fact that the d'Murani have been a confirmed great house far longer than any other. though the talnara might have two more positions, they've only been confirmed for a matter of what... hours?
Aramel2008-06-24 09:14:41
Yeah, it seems to be broken then.

Fix please?

I'm aware of that.
Hence why I brought up killing sprees.

That's right, d'murani should have far more honour than anyone else given the seats they hold. They have been GH the longest since the family honour system went in, and had the system been working, they would have been gaining honour that entire time.

Talnara -just- became Great House and their only honour gain is from aligning and patroning.

Now let's say 1 elected seat = 1 honour per month (which it should)

that's 5 honour per month with just the names I listed for d'murani

they started at 160 honour, they lost honour for badly coded PK honourloss and they lost honour for natural decay.

They became most honourable when the changes went in 13 days ago.

d'Murani:
5*13 = 65
65+160= 225
225-13 = 212

Now assuming PK had not been buggy for honour loss, they would have lost very few points at all for PK. However this was not the case and a buggy system made them lose even more points.

Talnara:
no chance to gain passive honour yet
patron/align honour = 160

So, again... d'murani should be the most honourable family at this point in time given the seats they hold.
