Based on that top 10 list, it sounds more like he is just upset with Republicans, then he is actually supporting conservative ideals.
Yup, he became a serious critic of Republicans about 5 years ago (after supporting Bush and Iraq--it was interesting watching his views evolve). Certainly, his support of Obama had more to do with repudiating the current Republican party than agreeing with Obama's policies. And his views of Palin were pretty extreme, culminating in his continued demand for her medical records which Visaeris pointed out (though I don't know why that would discredit him as a conservative). See his Palin medical records arguments here and here if you want to judge for yourself. Personally, I don't really care about Palin's medical records and I understand why people think Sullivan was a bit over the top in his demands (though he was the same way with Hillary Clinton). I always enjoy Sullivan's blog as he strikes me as an independent minded individual, who is sometimes overly passionate, and even if I disagree with many of his points, I trust his sincerity and admire his bucking talking points and spin which too many pundits cling to.

Well there are a lot of conservatives out there who are very unhappy with the republicans. But they still wouldn't support Obama, they would rather suggest people support Ron Paul or the like.
Or they would just say vote for anyone other than a republican.
