Syphon would be a combat buff though.
Unknown2008-06-29 04:35:30
It would be? What is it? huh.gif

Oh the Nihilism syphon? Where it draws out afflictions or something? Yeah that would be combat but if it didn't work when your companion has invested powers would it still be much of a combat buff? In pvp it would make you choose between your Archangel/Archdemon either syphoning for you or afflicting.

Affliction curing.

Honestly, I don't think copying one other skill (pooka) would be a problem, since it's not a direct copy at all. It only works while uninvested and against denizens.

Someone said you could just not invest and use it in pvp-but that's not going to happen. A Celestine that won't invest their angel isn't getting anywhere. Even in groups, it's much more effective to invest an angel rather than have the passive effects being discussed.

Summon a different ent for different needs.

Cherub/Imp - Helps you influence. Ego boost? Ego regen? Influencing boost to weaken and paranoia for the Imp and Empower and seduction for Cherub? Boost village influencing?

Deva/Fiend - Helps you hunt. Blocks mob attacks? Health Regen? Absorbs your bleeding?

Angel/Demon - Helps your defense. I was thinking of a defense like Vitality, but instead of giving you health when you are down to 25%, it should hinder your enemy enough. Maybe with 2 invested powers plus something extra that stops them from harming you?

Archangel/Archdemon - Helps your offense. Some increase in all the damage types you do, like increasing the mana drop with amiso. Maybe doing a little bit of damage every time they afflict(500)?

Huh? What I said was that you would run a cherub for (say) pacification or whatever, and then invest 3 powers if combat came up. That means you never see an archangel in combat again. It's not that major though.

Also, it's basically a copy of nymph, the mob pacification in pvp is so negligible...it wasn't awesome when it was on a 12 second tick, but it got slowed down drastically for some reason.

Good ideas but I still think we need to stay away from buffing pvp too much, and concentrate on buffing bashing and influencing. This will have to go through envoys and I don't see a boost to Celestine combat going through personally, though I'm not sure about Nihilism. Thanks for the suggestions though!

I really like the ideas which were posted, so here's my little 'change'. How about, instead of investing the demon/angel/whatever with powers, you invest your soul or bond. Then, once you summon , the powers you invested in your bond are 'transferred' to it. But to give the 'bonding' aspect a sort of slope, how about you make an ability before the actual entity summoning ability, allowing your soul/bond to be invested with X amount of powers. So to unjumble that, let's take it in steps and look at Nihilist Q.

Let's say that Nihilist Q has learned up to Imp (there's a 'power' ability before this, remember?) and bonded with...Gorgulu. With all of his skills, Nihilist Q can invest his bond with two powers. Later on, Nihilist Q is now able to summon a demon (or fiend or an imp) and can invest his bond with five powers. But let's say that with the changes, a fiend can regenerate ego. Poor Nihilist Q would usually have to swap his demon with five powers for his fiend with three, but because he invested them into his bond (or soul, whatever), he can summon a fiend but retain all five powers. And same would of course go if he decided to summon an imp.

This is a really interesting thread, and could lead to some cool ideas.

However.

I would like to point out that druids are arguably worse bashers than guardians.

Yeah, some really great ideas. I would love to see the things implemented to help improve hunting; it really is terrible.

And Hazar is right, Druid bashing could also use some help. I think it's really unfair that certain archetypes are better at bashing, all classes should be relatively equal.

So far Alban has only been in two guilds; Hartstone and Celestines. I would like to enjoy PvE for once.

Get high enough in Nihilism, summon an Archdemon with 7 powers and then summon the most battle beneficial summon with non of the drawbacks of having less invested powers...

Broken idea is broken freaked.gif

There's a similar thread to this somewhere! It should definitely go through envoys.
