Is there a new jump button, or does it automatically jump when you click to attack far away?
Desitrus2008-07-01 15:04:31
It showed up in one of Vivendi's quarterly statements or something quite a while ago, I think it was confirmed some time last year. That jumping is the same barbarian leap as was in D2.
Rakor2008-07-01 15:17:46
Also, hasn't it been in development since 2004?
I'm looking forward to massive co-op battles.

The pictures with no explanation above I am taking to be lumped in with the ridiculous nerd rage over surface lighting?

Obviously.
No... rumors only.

They announced D3 over 6 months ago, didn't they? I'm thinking maybe even earlier than that.

I'm looking forward to this. I was a big Diablo junkie, although never really got as much into Diablo II. I remember trying to play the Necromancer and him being pretty terrible (since any self-respecting monster would slaughter your minions instantly). I hope the Witchdoctor doesn't face the same issue, but he does look cool in theory.
Unknown2008-07-01 20:14:37
I played orb/fireball Sorceress in D2, which was lots of fun and pretty easy... unless Hell, where she couldn't hurt many monsters (especially uniques) due to fire/ice immunities and became kinda useless.
Tried berserk Barbarian because he doesn't face that issue but it's quite horrible without the teleport and area attacks.
I plan on using the battle.net this time (didn't do it before), I hope it's still gonna be free to play.

I always either went blizzard sorc, or fanatic zealadin. I hope the sys requirements aren't too severe.

The kotaku interview confirms development started in '04 and the quarterly statement leak on it, just that most people don't pay attention to stuff like that. Battle.net will remain free, as it's still the staple match-making service for competitive head-to-head gaming for Blizzard. Same goes for bnet support of SC2.
Hopefully I can make as much money ebaying unidentified uniques/sets as I did pindle-botting in the various season resets of d2.

Jigan2008-07-01 21:30:25
Necromancer, always. Golem Necromancer geared to melee and bone spear.
Desitrus2008-07-01 21:55:24
Original necro Iron Maiden + Blood Golem priority bug. Yay.
Mobs take 1010% damage while under iron maiden, damage taken was given before damage dealt. Blood golem instantly killed them by getting hit but would also gain life equal to the % of 1010%. Never die!

Heh, I remember killing someone on open battlenet who was using hacks for like massive damage and health, by using a Necro. All I did was have a golem out and use iron maiden, he struck it, killed the golem but also died instantly. It was just friendly duel though, he wasn't so much one of the jerky ones.

I remember the old amazon peirce + guided arrow baruzabow bug.
Jack2008-07-02 03:30:01
man golems were so terrible. You were best off just sinking points into clay golem, since the only thing a golem did well was tank, and clay ones had the best defense at higher levels. (Barring iron golems, 'cept you needed to sacrifice a pretty good item to make one of equal/exceeding defense.) Or better yet, ignore them and make way for the skeleton horde. Not that they'd be much good either.
I guess what I'm trying to say is WHIRLWIND BARB 4 LYFE
