What? Not if it was her declaring you because she used the illusions. She'd be the one to get suspect if she killed someone, and nobody else would.
Also, simply declaring doesn't give the suspect, you have to do an attack (participate / help in the death). Or at least, it never did in the past.

Ignore the first sentence. I was obviously mistaken. Allowing everyone in the room to kill you without status would be stupid either way. If someone is illusioning in the aetherplex, it doesn't really bother anyone. You just move along unless you have a system that freezes your commands. If you're having a conversation there and someone is being annoying, move along. If your system breaks from IC illusions. Well
I really don't see the potential in illusion abuse if it has to be IC.
Shaddus: If someone illusions attacking you, you would still have to declare to attack them. Whats the problem? Move along?

And that... would be a large part of the problem. There are a lot of illusions that are borderline IC/OOC (such as pretty much any illusion specifically designed to break a system). And yet, that's where illusions gets a large amount of its combat power from.
At the same time, it would be a good reason to keep your illusions amongst friends and allies, and only use them in front of enemies when actually fighting them (after all, your friends and allies are far less likely to take umbrage from illusions you create, unless you're trying to irk them for some reason).
The issue really arises when you're using illusions for an offensive/aggressive purpose without declaring. The game itself has no mechanical way of determining what an illusion's purpose is, so it really has to be one way or the other. It is a valid concern. Of course, it's not actually going to be changed because it does work better on the whole the way it currently is, but it is something that would be very nice under certain circumstances. Pretty much any time Munsia uses an illusion, for example.

Envoy targetted illusions.
3rd party messages would simply give a generic 'Illusionist conjures an illusion at target' message.

That would rock. In fact, I assume that's why we don't have them, because of the quantity by which it would rock.

It's broken, because someone can force me to declare them if I want to stop them from killing me. Make it so when you defend someone, anyone who's declared that person can attack you as well.
Please play around with it at mooter.no-ip.org and see if DEFEND and DECLARE now work how you expect them to. Note: monk skills could be fubarred on that server.

been suggesting that one for a while.

Nowhere else to put this, so I'll do it here.
If I attack someone off prime, am I supposed to be autodeclaring them? I attacked Haiden and Shaylene in the Catacombs and later found them both on my autodeclared list.

Yep. But it shouldn't matter. Even if they go to Prime and you kill them there, the Avenger SHOULD (should, not necessarily does) remember where you first did aggressive actions. That was changed a while ago.

It does matter, because then defend can come into play, and it all gets messy from there.

Oh, true. That's a problem then.
