Someone requested I start this topic, and it made sense.
Here's the problem:
Person spend 2 hours hunting on astral. I am fairly sure this person was up to Sociopathic.
Leaves Astral and uses DARKCHANT TRUTH (supposedly 50%). Got down to Highly Neurotic.
Wore circlet for an hour, and rested on Nil for another hour. Still slightly neurotic.
Another example.
I hunted on astral for 2 hour and got up to highly neurotic.
I'm over 2 hours by now, haven't left Nil, and I'm still neurotic.
I get astral should have a cost and I'm not disputing that. I'm just suggesting that recovery time from astral insanity be quickened, something closer to 1:1.
Alternatively, allow away for a player to heal insanity. Something like meditate where it makes it so you can't move or do any other actions, but speads up recovery.

Players do have a way to heal insanity. They're called healers. Too bad Mag doesn't get those.

You should probably just not bash for so long at a time without a circlet. That's how everyone else gets around it.

Besides the whole Mag doesn't have Healers bit, don't they have something to offset that with the whole DARKCHANT TRUTH thing?

except Truth sucks... it always has and no one who actually uses it thinks that it's of any help whatsoever

Healer insanity curing won't help you much either if you stay on Astral for 2+ hours without a circlet.

Darkchant truth and healer insanity does the same thing, anyway (I think). 50%, supposedly.

Truth is better in one aspect since it's the first skill of it's kind where insanity is cured forcibly without someone suffering instead of the initial insane person, I think.

to top it off, insanity seems to have been increased to the point of getting well into Highly Neurotic in just an hour... and it's taking longer to cure. What gives?

I never have much trouble with insanity. Mostly because I go down once I reach neurotic. Maybe you people will find the same if you didn't get so greedy.

Anyways, yeah, just come down when you're mid-Neurotic. Takes maybe 45 minutes to an hour to recover there before you go back up.

I don't think it's increased at all. I went Muud bashing yesterday and it wasn't any worse than usual.
