While that one does about 1.3k on an 8k target and a 2 second stun, the tornadobomb is slightly funnier.

tl;dr since admins hate logs: Being able to drop smudges remotely and lots of them on a very quick balance and then they stack is stupid and wrong and horribly broken. It shold be preventable, maybe with skunk spray or monolith or something.

I haven't decided how balanced it is yet, but do remember that shield stops it entirely, and it's not really an instakill if you get hit by it, just a bunch of damage and harrassment.

Except the balance on the badger is so fast you can use it right before you engage a team, or you can have an ecologist sit in the back spamming smudges while the rest of the group engages.

Promise, on the receiving end it's not balanced.

Edit: Badger is on a 4 second balance assuming whoever was shooting them at us as fast as possible.

Really? Large damage+stun to personal enemies with absolutely no risk to yourself? I seem to remember you saying dreamweavers should be neutered because are fighting without any risk, how is this different? (other than the fact that you can actually hit the dreamweaver, but you can't touch the ecologist or the badger)
Unknown2008-07-09 06:05:20
I am not surprised really heh, the admin apparently don't test the skills they create before they release them into the game. It has been this way since as long as I can remember and will continue to be like this, unbalanced, overpowered changes until the playerbase complains loud enough. (Yet even when we do complain loud enough our cries tend to be ignored for months.)
Rika2008-07-09 06:06:20
Badger is about 4s normally and 2s if he uses that power feat, I think.
Jack2008-07-09 06:06:27
Haha, I read that as "my bladder is broken" and I got this great image of Visaeris weeping helplessly as he pissed himself.

Carry on.

I'll be honest this isn't the jack quote I was anticipating. I feel let down.

Good point. As I say, I haven't decided if it's balanced yet, I'm only pointing out that in a normal situation you could have avoided it completely and it'd've been a lot less bad than, say, chaindrag/beckon.

EDIT: Btw, it's not personal enemies, it's only a small portion of them. It's like contagion, diminishing returns on higher groups. Just to clear that up.

That's reassuring. At 4 seconds it's pretty censor.gif up, at 2 it'd be insanity^2

See, when I was testing with Xiel (the other way around really), I kept telling him that people are going to complain. He dismissed pretty much everything I said. Glad others agree with me. tongue.gif

Do I need to dig up the posts about Chaindrag where Magnagora says "Shield stops it" but most people go haha!

I wasn't even here to see what happened, but just going from this one post and about "Shield stops it," well we've been over this before, probably plenty of times. This is not a valid defense of the skill.

And later on this thread you even bring up Chaindrag, well...

Shield stops it.

Heh and I haven't even seen the new spiritsinger skills that they've gained. I bet they are just as stupid as the ecology changes but I won't assume anything until I see for myself.
Unknown2008-07-09 06:15:30
I used that joke first, psh.

As far as bond deliver goes, I think it shouldn't stack, i.e. you can't deliver another smudge until the previous one 'finishes'. Normal, ecologist smudges should still be stackable. This should be more fair, maybe.

Huh? So are you conceding that chaindrag is overpowered? If so, that's fine. But this is actually worse than chaindrag in a normal scenario. It might still be too good (as I have pointed out that chaindrag is) but it's still worse in most scenarios. The reason they got hit by it a tonne as a ranged skill here is that they were sitting in aggro shieldbreaker mobs.
Exeryte2008-07-09 06:18:40
Chaindrag isn't the same, because it doesn't pull out everyone in the room who isn't shielded.

Though that could be changed.

It pulls one. This doesn't pull any. Np?

That'd be the overpowered suggestion and monks are being redone. And judging by the latest batches of Skill reviews...
