Splendours are way better than the tome for pure tanking now that tome doesn't work on physical damage. It'll help you tank bards, but splendours help much more against monks/warriors.

Forgot Tome was changed... Yea, what Shiri said.

If you know what you are doing, cooking is awesome. It's also really great for creating strange things. Herofetes + Spatula = Most excellent.

I'd say go poisons, but I think you're stuck with high magic as a Celestine.

Well, as much as I'd like to be a cook, that isn't really... not me. Yeah.
So it's between Enchanting and Tailoring.
If I go tailoring I can trans easy since artisan/tailoring is in the same pool. If I go enchanting, I think I would be a bit shy of transing (175cr from turning in my pantograph, plus a 40% (?) lesson loss).
Splendors seems nice since I can't seem to get 50/50 robes at all, but in the long run I don't think I would use it much. Since I hate making clothes and people don't often buy clothes other than robes/packs.
As an enchanter I could probably sell stuff more (sigils, statues for celest, cubes, jewelry).
I'm totally ripped between even changing now . Since credits are expensive.

Well... I know that Meliana enchants her own cubes for her own shop. I guess it really depends actually. Tailoring DOES give you the ability to be creative. But with enchantment, you just end up sitting there, unable to even emote. And if you want to make any sort of profit with enchantment, you'll want to supply a shop. Though in the end, you should choose the tradeskill you think you will have the most fun with. Except for Herbs and Alchemy that are in incredibly high demand, tradeskills doesn't give much profit.

Aison has 3 shops, so I don't think she will have much of a problem making gold in that way. One of them is her guild shop, but she still gets paid for her time.
I'm kind of tired of dealing with the Charities. I like being creative, but I can always suggest stuff to other people: and I can just hire a new trademaster for my private cartel if I get the itch to design something. Otherwise, I am pretty happy with the selection of instruments I have now.
You can also make quite a killer with enchanting, I know that first hand. Faragan not only bought a 13+ room manse, but he bought each room a stasis gem, furnished them, bought a safe, fountain, AND manse shop, all with credits he got from enchanting. That doesn't include buying gloves of mastery or his paintbrush with enchanting money. Also, he got more credits to switch from Celestines to Aquamancers and then back to Celestines, then back to Aquamancers, which isn't cheap by any means. There's a few more credits he has here and there, saved up mostly. But, overall, he does extremely well.

Celestines get paid for running the shop?!
After I've done it for so many IG years... I feel... used.

Well, if I provide a ware (like tinderboxes, pipes, shovels), with commodities, I just take how much it would cost in gold from the shop floor. The Celestines still make a profit, I get a little bit out of it, and the Celestines have plenty of gold to spare anyway.

A virtue is sharing.
