And how would we not have enough time to not pick a leader? We can pick a leader and then a back-up leader I'm sure if it comes to that. And even if we have no leader, somebody will step up and lead anyways.

Daganev, Visaeris, what are your policies on sidetrips/shortcuts through places that have lots of things that are not nailed down?

Daganev has revealed that he is after airship plans. This is a key piece of information in his claim. My own goal is to acquire the Chalice of the Goddess, which is apparently sacred. You gave a vague answer of riches, which doesn't mesh up with my information as well as Daganev's does.

Silvanus's claim is worse to me in this regard, it should be noted.

Now, I could just be mistaken in thinking that everyone has a specific purpose in taking this trip, but at this point I suspect that you had to come up with that motive on the fly. If everyone else has similarly vague goals, and it turns out that only a few of us have specific ones, I'll lay off that line of thought, and probably recast my nomination. But that'll require confirmation from a few other people.

For reference, I'm Glindor the Water Mage, from the Highlands of Heruedur. And despite being a mage, I seem to have devoted myself to the Goddess of Water. I've got blue robes, and a pouch containing several herbs. I've got Water Magic as an adventure power.

I'm assuming that it's "mage" that's specified and not "priest," because I don't have any healing abilities. If you're a priest, don't frigging tell people, please.

In fairness, Othero, Daganev's not trying that hard for the position. I'm the one lobbying hard for it because I think it's going to shake itself out as a crucial role and a key part of the fellowship. I'm also arrogant and believe I'd be best suited to make key decisions.

As to you, Bianca, my interpretation of things is that there will only be one challenge a day, and nominating a leader is the first such challenge. If we're beset by a dragon or wolves or something we won't have time to draw straws like this. I suspect this is the only peace and quiet we're going to get.

And Arix, I'm open to shortcuts, as long as they are safe and won't compromise the party. The purpose of this entire journey is getting rich, so a sidetrip through a cavern full of riches is on the books if it's in the same general direction.

This seems to imply that the killing roles are comparatively weak in this game or there are a lot of factors that could stop them. The last game had 24 players and only went on for seven days, and that stretched all the way out to the very last four people; this one only has 16 players and yet Balizar apparently sees some possibility that it might continue all the way into day 10, which suggests that deaths will be relatively rare. Is anyone else reading this the same way?

I'm running a gambit. Someone has to be leader, only way to prove I'm on the fellowship's side is to admit fully who I am. I know how my aggressive, arrogant statements make me look, so I had to be completely open about it. I wasn't expecting Glindor and Bianca to follow suit, however.

My motivation is that anywhere is better than where I've been, and if 'anywhere' turns out to be a cave full of fabulous riches and involves me travelling with a bunch of people I don't know, well at least it'll be interesting if probably not safe.

Since some people are asking me, I'll clarify. No two challenges are the same. You will not get second chances in this respect.

It is going to take us 10 days to reach the treasure, der are 16 of us. Dat means der be 10 lynches. Dis also means dat der be 10 nightkills... or not. It must mean something is up. Perhaps some challenges will prevent us from being able to lynch, or perhaps d'warlocks and pychopaths are only able to kill 1 or two times.

If someone investigates me, then *they* know that I'm on the good guy's side. What they do with that info is up to them, but the more people who check me out the better. It only strengthens my position.
