I guess we'll just never find out what the contraption does. I find my sword and armor to usefull to trade it, just to find out if the contraption is of any use or not.
Shame you had to waste the 700 gold like that.

Visaeris probably thinks Silferras is not scum because somebody died last night and Visaeris roleblocked Silferras.

Two games (or was it three?) with him and Daganev still can't spell my name right.
Anyway, I would find it suspicious as well if Visaeris randomly cleared someone with a necklace that didn't do what someone else claimed, and Thul's concern about the theft is a valid one, so I'll just come clean with the relevant information.
I'm Blaine, the pauper, on the journey for the riches as so accurately stated by our leader. My only worldly possessions are the rags on my back and 125 gold, which includes Shamarah's generous contribution. My fervent hope and lifelong dream is to finally not need to eat decomposing cheese and various unfortunate furry animals (though most not as large or as filling as a majestic moose would be). As a Peasant, I'm fairly useless in combat situations, and have no powers whatsoever since I'm an Everyman. The latter 'power' (or lack thereof) was what led me to question Rika's claim at first. The fellowship's victory is my victory.
I don't know how much Visaeris can confirm, but there's really nothing to be gained in hiding my role at this point since I'm plain vanilla, and avoiding the issue is just going to generate unnecessary speculation and suspicion. So, go forth, my fellows! Slay those warlocks and psychopaths, and save me from a lifetime of stale, measly meals!

I'm somewhat skeptical of this claim. It was stated that each person would have some form of useful adventure ability, and you... have Peasant. I suppose that'll come in handy if there's ever a situation where we need someone to reek of poverty, but otherwise I'm hard-pressed to see what sort of function you would fill.
I'm still waiting to hear exactly what information Visaeris got on Silferras, specifically as to whether affiliation and abilities were included in the reveal. I'm still trusting it at the moment, on the assumption that, if Visaeris is scum, he wouldn't be so blindingly stupid as to try and protect a fellow mafioso with such a dubious, dubious method. If either him or Silferras somehow turn up as scum, they're both screwed.
Well, Visaeris less so, because of the damn lynch immunity.

Except he wouldn't have had the Pauper bit of information beforehand.

now that hte forums are back up...
So we have Visaeris now claiming that Silferras and Silvanus are legit?

Arix2008-07-23 21:24:31
When did he claim that Silvanus was legit? Also, that necklace: is it a one-shot per person owning it, or a one-shot, period?
Lorick2008-07-23 21:34:33
Most likely a one-shot, period.
Arix2008-07-23 21:40:20
Yeah, that's what I figured. Wonder if it could get recharged or something if the mage had it though.
Daganev2008-07-23 23:34:35
It can't hurt to pass it around and see if it gets recharged.
Unknown2008-07-24 01:02:25
Oh, I missed that. I'm up to trade, pending a consultation. I'll get back to you. Sword and Armor for the Contraption.
Unknown2008-07-24 01:11:11
Oh huh my bookmark didn't update so I missed the rests of the posts. Ok, well, if you won't trade the Sword and Armor, you've really got nothing to offer me.
I don't have any *proof* that Silvanus is legit, but I haven't seen anything to counter the belief he built in me in the beginning of the game... As for Silferras.. Paraphrased but not very heavily
I scried Silferras, hoping to figure out something about him.. I discovered that he was a pauper, someone just trying to make his way in the world. He's most likely on the quest for the wealth at the finish. He seems like a decent sort of fellow.
That's all I got.

I'll trade the sword and armor, if the contraption does anything, but since my hunch is that it doesn't do anything anymore, I'm not willing to give up the protection on a gamble.

Well, there's nothing in the item description that would make me suspect it's no longer valid. It says that it's something engineers would find useful.
Oh well, your loss.
Silvanus2008-07-24 04:30:17
Daganev probably doesn't want it because he knows it won't work for him, it's not like he voted to be a dwarven engineer anyways.

Umm, that's kind of a random vote... could you go over that one more time?
Daganev2008-07-24 04:52:54
Then let me see it, and I'll trade back with you.
Again, I have reason to believe that my bag of tricks required something else to be usefull, since my bag has only one use, and I used it, it appears that it won't be usefull to me anymore. If it is usefull, I'll give you the sword and armor. But I know that if its not usefull, you won't give me the sword and armor back.
It really hurts the fellowship more than it hurts me personally. I'm not sure why you insist on being a jerk to me all the time.

Nope, your opportunity passed. I don't trust you. You're asking me to put it on faith when you've been one of the scummiest players in the game. If you want to trade, I'll trade, but you're wasting your time trying to convince me to just give it to you.

For dealing with other players, you can use these syntaxes:
Remember to bold!
GIVE X GOLD TO X
GIVE (ITEM) TO X
TRADE (ITEM) TO X FOR X GOLD
BUY ITEM FROM X FOR X GOLD
Remember to bold!
GIVE X GOLD TO X
GIVE (ITEM) TO X
TRADE (ITEM) TO X FOR X GOLD

I think the syntax TRADE SWORD AND ARMOR TO VISAERIS FOR GIZMO for Daganev, and TRADE GIZMO TO DAGANEV FOR SWORD AND ARMOR will work for Visaeris. If one of you wants to initiate trade, do it already and move on, the other one of you will either accept or just ignore it. We still have to figure out who to lynch and all.
I've been hesitant to get things going again after the whole thing with Archer. Honestly, I'm a bit bummed. But we do have to lynch someone, preferably before everyone gets bored and forgets that there's a Mafia game going.
Looking over the day's posts, it doesn't seem like any new ideas or really useful information has surfaced. Looking over people post by post hasn't pulled up anything important for me either (although Zetsu, I'd like to know why you post once a day in red.) So I'm going to go back to yesterday's leftovers and Vote: Daganev for general disagreeability and unlogic.
Someone give me a better target to look at. Please.
Silvanus, I'm with Arix on that one... I don't think you read over what you wrote before you posted. Explain the thought process again?

I'll be gone for the next 36 hours or so, and I'll be holding my vote till then. Hopefully there'll be some development by the time I return!

Try using your brain.
If you want to be a vindictive prick fine, do so. Its no skin off my back since I think we've allready lost. But what exactly do you gain by being so? What does the fellowship gain?
@thul, I suggest you start looking at the people who have been under the radar, or look at the people who will give you information on other people by knowing about their deaths.
