I'm not sure whether that'll give him the veracity of one post in its entirety, one post line by line, or just one line of his choice. In any case, he doesn't need to tell us who he's targetting, and ultimately, the power is up to him. Anyone willing to offer up a clear, true or false statement as simple as "I am not scum" is opening themselves up to investigation.
I have already offered up such a statement because I'm really not worried about being investigated, or having any of the information I've revealed proven false. Lorick has offered up a statement saying he's not a thief, but he has not openly stated that he is not a warlock, or scum in general. This makes me suspicious, as it looks like he's trying to make himself helpful when he isn't. Anyone outright refusing to make a statement is highly suspicious in my books.

I would rather not state how it works as of yet, simply because if I do, it may be that much easier to work around. I also do not plan, at this time, to say when I will use it. If you wish to make statements that can easily be tested, however... by all means, please do.

Fair enough.
I am a part of the Fellowship, I win with the Fellowship, and I am not a thief or have the ability to steal from others.

When did you make such a statement?
All you said was

. A better phrase is "I am not scum." "I am with the Fellowship." "I do not need to be killed before the Fellowship can win this game."
You never actually said those statements in reference to yourself.
Thul2008-07-25 16:29:16
Try this one.
I had this idea a while ago.

Also, thought.
I am Glindor, the Water Mage, and I am not scum.

Daganev2008-07-25 16:41:19
But nothing about not being the thief
Lorick2008-07-25 17:10:22
Heh, and not being scum and winning with the fellowship are two different things sometimes.
Daganev2008-07-25 17:14:18
I wonder if the orb would recognize "I am not scum" to be true, even if you are a warlock... because afterall, you arn't "scum"
Thul2008-07-25 17:51:13
Let's cover all the bases then, shall we?
I am not a warlock, or a thief, or an individual with a win condition outside that shared by the Fellowship.
As for the issue of the thief, I've been thinking... we might not want to focus so heavily on the that. The thief's targets have been, in order, Lorick, Daganev, and myself. I find the fact that I was targetted over Shamarah (who is currently just loaded) highly odd. Given that our doctor (Othero) had an uncharacteristic role as a monk, it's possible that the thief serves a dual function as pro-town investigator. That might explain the sequence of targets... Lorick was a winner last game, Daganev is (as always) highly suspicious, and I like to think that I'm worth the trouble of investigating.
Of course, it's equally possible that the thief is just a thief, and targetting people at random. All three of the targets seem to be relatively active posters.

Lorick2008-07-25 18:08:53
True, and if that is the case, it would mean we would of already been investigated.
Although, I personally liken the role to more of a survivor than a investigator, but it isn't outside the realm of possiblity.

I am not a madman. I am not a psychopath. I am not a warlock. I win with the Fellowship. I am part of the Fellowship. I do not need to die for the Fellowship to win.
Unknown2008-07-25 19:00:46
I don't really think that this is an effective way to find the thief (Oh!*), but if everyone does it then Xenthos has a one-shot investigative tool.
*I am not a thief. I have no abilities. I have no items that allow me to take gold from others.

Arix2008-07-26 00:13:04
If we resolved the problem of the thief, would we move on from that and find someone to lynch?
Thul2008-07-26 00:55:23
The thief is a distraction at this point. An annoying one, but I have a feeling he or she is just a distraction from the real issue of killing off the warlocks. (I think we lucked out and are down the only psychopath, but I could be wrong.)
Of course, the thief's survival is probably dependent upon the return of all that money. I'm going to want mine back, at least... there's a bracelet somewhere along the way with my name on it.
If you'd like to make a statement, Arix, now would be a good time. Stating simply that you are not scum or a thief would be good. Unless of course you're admitting yourself to be the thief, in which case I want my gold back, you jerk.

*ahem*
I am the thief. I am pro-town and win with the Fellowship. And I can investigate, sort of. At night I can gather information by snooping through people's stuff.
And yes you can have your gold back. I realise mages don't get paid a lot.
GIVE 110 GOLD TO THUL

Who did you investigate?
I'm sniffing a BS on this one.

Lorick, Daganev, and Thul. I rummage through their stuff at night, gather info based on what they are carrying, then cover it up by walking off with some of their gold.
Arix2008-07-26 01:27:30
And I don't think you should judge how others earn their gold, little miss whore

Then what did you discover about Lorick and Daganev and Thul?
Arix2008-07-26 01:33:53
well, Thul I definitely believe. What he said he had and what I saw in his possesion match up, and I do t hink he hs what he says he is.
Lorick, I would like to hear a roleclaim from, because I am worried he will stab someone at night with the sword he has under his black robes.
And Daganev...I don't know about. I got no information on any equipment whatsoever, and I got the strong impression that he was a normal dwarf.
