I suggest a second class of instruments which takes two hands to hold, but allow defensive/passive healing/buffing songs to last twice as long. Other songs are not effected. Intruments could include accordions, large harps, and guitars.

Of course, this begs the question... how do you play any bard instrument with one hand?

Instruments should require two hands, but then again, buckler shields should be able to be worn on the arm without using any hands, so it all comes out in the wash.

Sitar is one of the four instruments I proposed to the Charites! (I would push more on that, but I'm holding out to push on windchimes as the outdoor equivalent to chandeliers, and even more importantly, the Display Case artisan craft that hopefully we're getting envoyed soon. (Container, uses 200 comms, 25% wall space, does not preserve anything, can hold up to 6 items. Even when it's closed, when you PROBE it you can see the items listed inside it, and you can PROBE those items as well. Easy-peasy, and it'd be great for putting up paintings, displaying keepsakes and treasures, etc.))
