It's possible it's that. I just thought of Lilith because Illith was a female and Lilith created swarms of demons once she was thrown out of Eden for refusing to be on the bottom during sex with Adam. Obviously, if she created the demons, part of her went into them. Similar to the Illithoids, who have part of Illith in them.
Erk, no.
Concidering that Illithid SOUNDS close to Illithoid, that the Illithid are also called Mind Flayers, they live in the Underworld (which is a section of almost every world of every campaign), process psionic powers and they look like a marine creature, who may or may not pray to a being who will bring the end the upper world, I THINK you may be REALL off
But Esano beat me to it.
EDIT: And I forgot that the Illithid have a lamprey-like mouth and they eat brains.

Noris is the Latin name for the German city of Nuremberg.
The IC philosophy of Nihilism does have a number of parallels with LaVeyan Satanism, but there aren't realy that many links with theistic Satanism. Infact, I would say that it is closer to Judaism and some parts of Christianity than Satanism. Lichdom is rather similar to the concept of the Resurrection and the promised life after death of Christianity. There's also alot of crucifixion going on in Nihilism. The Old Testament God is full of wrath and turns people into pillars of salt and regularly smites people, which is inline with Ashtorath.
Celestineism is much more new Testament, with saint Joya (I forget how it's spelled; it's been along time since I've been in the Celestine guildhall), Razelia's "love everyone, even if they are your enemy" philosophy, the Vernal Goddess Marilynth sacrificing herself to save mortalkind despite temptation to join the "evil" side and the Light itself (1 John 1:5: "This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.") There's also superficial stuff, such as angels and Celestia being a heavenly garden.
