Yes to 3, at least at first. After a while, if it looks like the person is doing a good job keeping both characters separate, I might relax this.

The only thing that bothers me is when people go out of their way to tell me who their alts are, particularly when they are playing as them. I like alts and think everyone should have at least one so they can get a good feel for the different facets of the game, but please, don't say who you are! It kills part of the immersion that goes with it, and people will treat you differently (even if subconsciously).
It's one thing if people figure you out and go blabbing about who your alt(s) are, it's quite another if you do it yourself.
