Okay. So. I want to try to make a mafia game. Yeah, I'm not a Mod of the forums so it won't get stickyed or anything like that.

I have a lot of the roles made already, along with some situations, but, there are some things I don't get.


1) What's the ratio, usually, of mafia:town?

2) How do you determine how many people it takes to make a lynch?

3) Do games usually include a SK?


If someone could help me out, it'd be great. Thanks ahead of time.

Mafias normally come in groups of 3s. There is normally one non town group for every 5 to 8 players.

Most games only have a serial killer if there is more than 10 players.

Its always 50% to lynch. Its up to you if its 50% + 1 or not.

Oh and don't forget about cults.. cults are great. They win as soon as they are the majority of the town. They start off with either 1 or 2 people, and every night they can induct one more person into thier cult.

You add a cult if you want more than one mafia group, but don't want the mafia killing eachother off.

And you don't need to be a mod to get it pinned. Balizar's not a mod himself, actually. Prod Shiri-bot.

I wouldn't want to bother the Shiri-bot with it, tho.

I wonder if people would play mine. It's going to be Gods-related. People'd probably play just 'cause it's a Mafia game, tho, right?

Probably. Though maybe if it's your first time, you could run the setup by someone who's experienced at moderating the games and isn't playing yours (and who you trust not to blab). Then you could ask them for tips throughout the game's life, if necessary.

I pin all mafia games when I see them.

First of all, thanks for the heads up on that. I don't like having to bother people, but if you automatically pin them, then I don't have to bother you with it because you already do it.


Nextly... anyone a quiet person who'd like to help me out? I have all the Gods ready (13 in total... hope that's not too few), trying to decide on a few scenarios to use, along with night-death scenes.

And for those interested, I have all 13 Gods chosen, their skills have been chosen, skill-related death scenes have been chosen, and I have three situations at the ready.

I guess all I need now are more situations.

And if I figure out the rest of the situations before Daganev returns my message of whether or not he'd like what I have so far, I'll go ahead and let him play too.

Honestly, no offense, but I think you should play at least another game or two of mafia before you go trying to make your own. Especially when you're still asking basic questions like "how do you know how many it is to lynch". I think you'd do fine as a mod, but balancing a mafia setup is difficult, especially for people with relatively little mafia experience.

And the situation thing is just something I made up for the envoy mafia and then Balizar sort of took and played around with. It's not actually a standard part of mafia.

Though I see you've already opened a signup thread, so, your call I guess...
