Mafia: Elder Wars Redux

by Rika

Back to The Real World.

It turns out I wasn't really interested in playing another mafia game after all (hence my lack of posting), so I've asked to be replaced with someone who actually wants to play.

Masons provide a strong base for the town to decide votes with. Cults are particularly good at dealing with masons, especially considering converting a member from each allows you to narrow out power roles. That said.. Hrm.. I'm not going to ask you to reveal your partner Xenthos as of yet, no point to that. But we have a potential voting block of four people. Who do you not like?

You. dry.gif

But my vote is on Okie right now (not due to partial claim, but more due to... wtf?).

Shamarah has been replaced with Archer2.

I hate cults their like an ever growing doom swarm and it is very hard to stop once it gains momentum because anyone could become a cultist the next night -.-. I am praying to all that is friendly and fried that there is no cults.

Speaking of things we wish weren't in the game, what exactly is the jester role people were referring to?
Unknown2008-08-03 01:36:54
I wonder if perhaps my first mafia game I will be a day one lynch. ^.^ trillial only believe me after I am dead?
Shiri2008-08-03 01:38:04
Actually, is there any disadvantage to outing your partner when playinh a mason? Masons are useless except for their partnership, so if you claim it, the other target isn't a higher priority than normal except for their being a "proven townie" (if the other one dies and the role reveals they were a mason) - and having proven townies is good for town, without being a huge loss if they die.
Arix2008-08-03 01:38:38
A jester is someone whose goal is to annoy the crap out of people so as to get lynched. He then explodes and kills everyone, thus winning the game. This is why I choose not to vote for Okie Sakana
Arix2008-08-03 01:39:20
I'm back on the computer for a bit, btw.

Look up the New World Order game, they lost to a jester in that one.

I don't personally see an issue with it, but my partner has posted (and not claimed), so I'm going to respect that decision for the moment. I definitely don't have any issue with claiming for myself, though, because... well... if I'm targeted, at least it saves someone who can do more than "talk at night". Hopefully. Especially since I have no idea what there is to talk about. happy.gif

And that exploding jester was Not Supposed To Exist, Arix. I think the Jester role is typically someone who tries to get lynched and then can take out one of / some of the people who vote (there's some advantage gained when you get lynched).

Welcome to the game Archer
Arix2008-08-03 01:44:24
Lemme clarify: A jester wins if they get lynched.

Well, they "win," but it's not supposed to end the bloody game. So it's essentially "The Jester wins alongside with whatever team wins."

WB. Arix interesting theory but I am no jester. Though I wish I was now kinda ^.^ be funny getting you all to lynch me day one as a jester. However with further circular logic you could come to the conclusion I said I am not a jester to make you think I am a jester even further. But I assure you that I am a townie. I also still don't like Requiem he is the only person that was doggedly trying to keep revan way up on the lynch list even as he was losing votes and suspicion now granted that made me really suspicious of him and I doubt I will lose this suspicion of him being a character with a murder/cult role/baddie esque role. Until he is investigated and proven safe in a reasonable way or untill he is dead. Once that is done depending On what he is I have said my thoughts on who I would suspect next. those being either thul or perhaps revan but I am losing so much suspicion on revan and lorrick as the time goes forth they just seem to have claimed hard and fast such a role that if one of them dies and becomes mafia etc then the other one gets to go down with him.
Arix2008-08-03 01:48:11
It's hard not to get scum alarms from Lorick given past games where my instincts about him were correct.
Lorick2008-08-03 01:57:25
Heh, in one of those you were the other godfather, in the other you were the obvious thief. Anyways, morning can clear it up. I think I'll stick with Req for now, for reasons listed before.
Arix2008-08-03 02:06:23
The thief was a townie though, if you recall. It was like 'townie townie townie LOLGODFATHER townie' for me

Wait, when have I ever tried to put pressure on Revan? I've repeatedly said that I don't really get scum vibes from Revan. I think Lorick is, but it doesn't really matter because the issue would be best dealt with at night.
