I don't see how you're claiming Thul's roleclaim was believable. It wasn't believable. People have been saying that the fact it's so unbelievable is evidence in his favour because Thul wouldn't make up something that unbelievable, he's smarter than that. Thul is like #1 suspect around here for starting the name-claim-train and then springing "Maylea the avenger" on us when it came around to him.
Sarrasri's commented that my claim is at least structurally sound, if nothing else. And it is at least structurally sound, even if the ability is bizarre for who it's attached to. I made a very large point of getting people to look at that claim really, really carefully. I may have even been obnoxious about it. If I've done this, it's because I've had no real fear of being called out on it by townies, because I am a townie.
If you think I can somehow avoid hitting a duplicate claim entry in a game with a short list of names and a large player base, and pull a structurally sound roleclaim with no other solid information to go by, then you have an inflated opinion of my abilities.
If you aren't seeing that... I suspect it's because you're not operating with all of the information that they are. Specifically, a townie role PM. FoS: Shiri for right now.
In the meantime... uh. I was gonna drop it on Zetsu since Arix aggro-cleared through replacement (welcome, Myrkr) but... Shou's asking for it. Directly. And in the face. Vote: Shou

Vote Shou Love how people like voting for me because I don't post a lot. Sorry for not wanting to repeat what 10 other people have said before me. Not really defensive about it just saying *shrug*. In anycase there is my vote.

Based on my own role description, beyond giving out what org my God belongs to (which if you ask I will reveal), the info could be more harmful than beneficial at this point.
Let's start with this, which I just noticed while re-reading. Which org are you talking about, if you think giving out information it would hinder more than help? With that hint, I assume you mean that you are one of an org's present/active pantheon - at least we have something to speculate with from there, instead of having to rely on cryptic responses. From your posts, it also seems to me that you either have a power or ability that is useful to the town, or some sort of vengeance ability like Thul claimed, hence said uh.. half-temptation to get yourself lynched so that we 'see what you mean.'
The thing is, if the case is the former, I don't see why you would want to be lynched, even if you're kidding. An explanation is in order.

Ironically, this is just when I got caught up on 14 pages worth of posts. I want to apologize first as I was in and out of consciousness this weekend with a particularly nasty bug. I did visit the forums briefly from the bedside laptop to try to get caught up but ended up just passing out midway through. I even missed out on BVS and lost a day bonus. I'm barely functional at work right now so I'm not on top of my game, but I'm making an effort for you guys! Requiem was right to ask for a mod-prod and I'm a little surprised I wasn't replaced.
Both times I've chosen to vote have been for somewhat solid reasons. Revan was because he attacked someone I found helpful and thought should at least live past day one and his confrontational posting style was grating on me a bit. Daganev I really thought was going to start flailing about wildly. Now that I've seen he's holding to what he said, I'm going to Unvote: Daganev as I've been considering for awhile.
More at lunch.

You're (deliberately?) distorting how hard it would be to come up with your claim.
There are no shortage of Elder Gods in the histories - including a whole lot of obscure ones as Silvanus demonstrated. The playerbase is 20, and there are way more gods than that. We used to have a thread written up in general which had like 40 or more listed gods and that was several books ago. Picking one would have been a gamble but not -that- risky of one - particularly because I notice you didn't actually claim at first when you suggested the idea of the mass-claim, you only did that afterwards (along with the reason of why you asked for it, i.e one that would support the Maylea/avenger claim). And at that point you were under pressure for the dodgy move so you probably would have had to roleclaim at some point - I mean, when did you even claim Maylea, after you got to 7 votes?
Also I have no idea why you think a structurally sound claim is hard, this is completely elementary. Celina and Arix made like the same claim last game and the main reason no one believed Celina is because nightkill-resistance is apparently a common scum claim, and because she failed to google properly and realise she was claiming a nonexistant pony.
As for why you would pick one that doesn't fit, I can only say that A) if you're scum, it's a double-bluff, and 2) if you're town, Rika dropped the ball on connecting the gods to the abilities. Given that I -do- connect to my role, my suspicions lean strongly towards the former. I hope a cop goes for you tonight instead of Lorick/Revan (save them for later) so we can get this particular aspect out in the open (or...not, I guess, if you're telling the truth.)
@Lyco: being voted for not posting much and not posting much actual content when you do is pretty much normal and good mafia behaviour.

*sigh*
I'm beginning to grow slightly frustrated here. Day 1 is usually annoying, but this has been especially so.
The more I listen to Shiri, the more convinced I am that moving my vote from Thul was likely an error. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, I guess, but the Maylea claim is a bit sketchy...really. (Boo to you, Rika, if it's legit)
I have no reason to vote for Shou. I don't find him particularly sketchy. I think the people who are all like "Shou's asking for it!" are really just pushing to end Day 1 (which, yes, I'd like too, but I'm not willing to lynch someone I think is innocent for it).
I think Saaga has been fairly sketchy. And I'm still suspicious of fishguy and Lorick and Revan.
I'm going to go with a Vote: Saaga as she hasn't seemed to offer much in the way of information except to tell us she won't be giving us any.

I'm assuming people are going over roleclaims in the same sort of anal-retentive detail that I do. Some games that works, some games it doesn't. Shamarah didn't do the copy-paste thing with the roles in My Little Pony, so Celina would've had an easier time of it. Also, I have vague suspicions that Silvanus's claim isn't actually legit... bit too obscure.
I'm not afraid of an investigation. The obvious chain of progression for an investigator at this point would involve me and Revan... but then I've no means of guaranteeing that that's how it'll end up. If we don't hear anything for a few days about someone... it's no guarantee, but I would consider it a great indicator that I'm clean. Same with Revan or Lorick. Don't think anyone else has come up as extremely questionable.
Silferras. Not Sarrasri. >_< Forestal females with names that start with S and have the same number of letters. That's my excuse. Sorry. And yes, I take forever to write stuff.

Thanks Shayle. I've been getting worn out at this point too.
I'm sitting on Celest's current pantheon. I like how no one asked me about that despite me saying I would reveal if asked. I'm hesitant to specify further then that because, based on what I know, I'm not sure what the scum groups know and it's too risky. However because of all the eyeing I probably gave out too much anyway and I'm not surprised if they figured it out already. That, and also the fact that I -cannot- reveal much more than that. Can't. Not won't or shouldn't.

I'd feel more comfortable voting for Shou if Saaga bothered to actually respond to this thread at all.
Saaga has not posted a single post in a very long time. http://forums.lusternia.com/index.php?act=...sult_type=posts
Saaga posted "today" in some other threads, and posted in Lack of rants, after posting "good night" on this thread on August 2nd. No posts since then.
Also, shou isn't acting suspicious to me at all. He clearly has an important roll that can't be made public on the first day. Why are people pushing him on this?
In my mind, Shou and Silferras both responded to the critique of not posting enough. (silferras said she doesn't post much, and shou increased his posting) Saaga however has remained lurking, and people are voting for Shou??? I find that confusing.
I don't appreciate people being allowed to lurk so easily.

Fair enough, though I'm still a little suspicious of the temptation to be lynched, especially if Shou's role is as important to the town as he thinks it is. FoS on Shou at the moment.
I'll go ahead with a Vote: Saaga. Shayle and Daganev are both right, in that even though the lurking comment was directed to her, she didn't respond to it, and seems to be being deliberately evasive about her role. Claiming that you're not able to provide information can easily be a scummy stalling tactic, particularly if said scum is having trouble fabricating a plausible role and is thus trying to draw out other claims/examples. After Thul, though, Shou would be next on my investigation priority list.

Shou's been displaying some stalling tactics that I've had used against me in previous games, which, while largely ineffective, are highly irritating. I'm not reading her whole "well, I'm telling you stuff but I'm not telling you stuff" method favorably. I need some time to think over the whole "can't tell you anything" deal... I've never even heard of anything like that before. Vote remains where it is at the moment, but...
...I did a full post search on Saaga, and I actually feel a little bad for going after Zetsu for lurkiness now. Aside from going after Revan for that auto-rant (easy maneuver) and hopping on my train for the sake of hopping on my train (opportunistic maneuver,) she hasn't said much, and a good number of her posts seem to be just fluff. Somehow missed her when I was going over people who'd flown under the radar. Might be waiting a while for her to respond... she seems to be in Finland, but she's getting my vote soon if she doesn't speak up.
But first I need to mull over what the hell is up with Shou.
Side note: for what looked like a simple game at start, this whole thing's generating a surprising amount of WTF. And I think it's only gonna get worse.

@shiri: So posting things that people have already come to an agreement on, and not actually adding anything to the conversation is the way to play so people wont vote for you randomly?

Hello! Second mafia game. Whee.
After reading this thread (this is the day that never eeends), I've noticed a few things, but one truly sticks out to me.
Saaga isn't posting.
Since she's not near lynching, I'm going to Vote Saaga. Consider this a warning-vote for her to get her behind on this thread and start responding and giving a little input.

If you just read my posts for what they are Thul, they're pretty simple! Besides, if I were really mafia then I'd know better than to use such an obvious and risky stall tactic like that. Of course, then again you might be reading this post to mean the opposite of what it really is and I can't blame you for thinking that way.
The whole 'lynch me and I'll say I told you so' was just out of irritation mostly. Looks like it's either me or Saaga at this point though

Shou might be stalling, but he has given us information that the investigator can work off of. And we can lynch at a later date. We don't have to identify and lynch all scum on day one. (we can't anyways)
Saaga has given us nothing, is lurking (she/he's posted in other threads since last saying "good night" on this thread) and isn't adding anything to the conversation.
Can someone explain why Shou needs our votes more than Saaga does?
