I'm just saying that it's a possibility. And in that scenario, not only is it not a bad idea for Lorick to claim mason with Revan, but it's actually a really good idea. While it's possible that if Lorick shows up as scum that Revan would also be scum, it's extremely unlikely for the reasons people kept saying on Day 1. It doesn't make sense for scum to out themselves like that except as an extreme gambit.
I want to hear from both of them, just in case. Does your role confirm that your fellow mason is actually on your side? Xenthos too? I know you don't want to tell us who Bolly is, but does it specifically confirm that he's town?
It should be noted that this doesn't necessarily mean anything, since like I said, absent some sort of mutual destruction, it usually works out so the townie doesn't know the other guy is scum, but if it just says something weasel-y, then we can be fairly certain that the other one is scum.

... why would Bollikin be against us?! Anyways, I am reminded that he is also of the 7th circle (which is pretty much confirmation even if I do not "know" he's town directly). That, and I'm not getting any sort of scummy vibes (either in day-talk or night talk) from him. Bollikin.

What the hell Xenthos. Is Bollinkin Shayle or something? Or do you have a post-restriction that says you much reach "Here" on the gaydar everytime you post

QUOTE(Scrying Pool)
As the traitorous acts of Fain and His followers are always weighing heavy on His mind, Eventru holds a deep hatred for all things marred by the Soulless, and often times forbids any from speaking of them in His presence.
I actually went and looked up Eventru, since I had no idea who he was. I wonder if Shou gets to stop someone from talking during the day? If he actually has a post restriction--which keeping in mind his latest post, while reading the rest of what he's said Day 2 he hasn't necessarily contradicted--then he wouldn't be able to confirm this either, but he did just mention the mad scientist, which is a similar role. I think we should give it a day or two in real time to give everyone a chance to speak, and then go after whoever hasn't said anything.
@Rika: Giving the scum the ability to mute people and essentially get them lynched during the day would make baby Judas very sad.
Also, in light of the fact that Shou hasn't actually lied, I'm going to change my vote. He uses the term "roleclaim" rather ambiguously to refer to his nameclaim, which was what was throwing me off.
Unvote: Shou

I've actually never really had a reason to suspect you. I just figured I'd throw it out there, since you appear to be the other two-man Mason group. So while you don't suspect him, your role doesn't directly say anything to the effect of "You and Bollikin believe in freedom, fight against the twelve and the soulless, and win with the elder gods"?
I really want to hear from Revan/Lorick about this now.

I have no plans to claim for Bolly at this point, but really, have you never read the histories? This role comes with ready-made amusement factor built into it (the whole Bolly/Tae interaction), so I'm enjoying it. Don't rain on my little parade!

A Revan/Lorick response would be good right about now, as I said before, I want to know their opinions on this stuff.

Lol, alright. I have read the Histories, it's just that it was alittle unnerving coming from you.

I'm going to tell you that I'm not a mafia-type.
But whether you believe me is up to you. I've been right so far on Shou, and my vote for Saaga wasn't a bad one either.
By the way, I see you there, Revan.

Voting for Saaga doesn't prove anything at this point (assuming she was actually a SerialKiller with no friends, like it implied). That would be the "right choice" vote for both Town and Scum (group-scum because it's "not one of us and easily lynchable," town because it was a scum.) And you cannot say you were right about Shou until we've actually got it mechanically confirmed. It is still possible that he's lying.

I call dibs on the next game. Or if someone else was already making it (I recall something about a real life pantheon theme) then the next one.

Well. I think I'm right that he's Eventru and that he's not scum.

I'm just scared you guys are going to go the, "If Shou's mafia, then Myrkr's mafia" route, which I would hate to see happen. Because neither of us are mafia.

I've got dibs on the next. It is a real life pantheon version. Yes, fake roleclaiming will be abound. I anticipate it verily.
Unknown2008-08-07 18:14:05
Well, we won't necessarily got that route. But it would certainly cast a suspicious light on you, if that's the case. Considering you were the only one to defend him and not join the bandwagon.
Unknown2008-08-07 18:15:58
I pre-claim in advance that I'm Loki. And not scum. Or if I am scum, then I'll claim Mason with another scum, and we'll win because no one will call us on it.

One missing, one dead and revived (yay, Shiri).
Lots of pages.
The lovers theory intrigues me, especially with two sets of pairs that we know of. I've never heard of that kind of role, but I don't often go reading about mafia games (probably should, but I just like playing ).
So with lovers, if one dies, the other suicides? Is that true all the time? Wouldn't that mean if we were wrong about the alignment of one, we'd be shooting ourselves in the foot TWICE? I suppose the possibility of one lover being scum and the other being town is there as well, but...bleh, I don't know. I still don't trust Lorick, and Revan has been mighty quiet.
I'm not feeling the Shou bandwagon still.
I actually had forgotten that Bael was playing. Thanks, Silvanus. I'm going to put my vote there for now. vote: Bael
And might someone posit some reasons that a person could disappear? I didn't think cults made people disappear, just silently assimilate into their group?

If Shou is mafia, I'd logically declude the only person defending Shou is a member of the mafia.

Well, in this case, we have the excoriwhatsit, that doesn't work instantly (but takes time). It's possible that if it is the recruitment mechanic, it takes the person out for a day while it changes them, and then returns them the day after. If there's no visible change (or sign in their death-scene), we'd never catch on until we actually took out the recruiter.
Alternatively, it could be Xyl's ability to hide for a day... or Xyl was utterly consumed by something, leaving absolutely no traces behind.
